BSOD gaming and normal use

specs:

windows 7 home premium 64-bit
Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) quad core processor
6 gb of ram
1 tb western digital caviar black hard drive
650 watt corsair power supply
ATI Radeon HD 5770 video card
rocketfish cpu cooler

- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ?
64bit
- the original installed OS on the system?
no
- an OEM or full retail version?
idk

- What is the age of system (hardware)?
was told 1 year
- What is the age of OS installation
fresh install

Before we can even investigate the underlying cause you need to address this:

Asacpi.sys

The pre 2009 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.

Scroll down to the utilities category, then scroll down to the "atk0110 driver for windowsxp/vista/windows 7 32&64-bit" (it's about the 12th item down).

Download and install it.

Go to c:\windows\system32\drivers to check and make sure that the asacpi.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (not before).
