Random BSODs cant pinpoint why...
So i bought a new rig and now i am having random bsods - which can occur no matter how loaded my pc is at the moment.
I have stress tested gpu and cpu - but everything was ok there no bsods what so ever. Then i memtested ram for 10 hours straight - i got 11 passes and 0 errors. I tried driver verifier but nothing happened... got 2 different bsods while writing this post in fact, but was working for 3 hours without bsods previously -> these were d1 and 1e bsods.
I will attach my dump files below.
Here is additional reading - what i posted on the support forum of the company that send me components :
I hope someone will be able to help me to narrow it down.I was getting random BSOD's all day today ;/ No matter if the system was idle or under full load... it would crush in the most unexpected time with the irql_not_less_or_equal in ntoskrnl.exe file error... well that is something related to the TCP/IP stack ... so i started to try and isolate the problem, installed latest driver for everything... then i started to stress test the system monitoring temp e.t.c of my CPU and GPU, the CPU never went above 71C under full load for 30 minutes in prime95, i furmarked GPU but it didnt went above 85C so I rulled those out, then i memtested my ram (just 1 go though - 30 min - but it passed - i will leave it testing overnight today to rule it out completely).
I noticed that bsod was more likely to occur when i am stressing my wi-fi dongle, so i updated the drivers for it too, but this didnt help ether. Sometimes after BSOD pc didnt recognise that the dongle is plugged in at all, till i restart the system. One more strange thing is after i installed windows my Belking Wireless G dongle would never recognize as plugged in... In any USB port it just doesnt register no matter what (on my previous PC under WIN7 it still works fine) - on my new pc however it is only possible to make it work when i plug in my D-Link dongle - connect to the internet - unplug it - plug belkin in - then it recognises and works in any USB port. It might work for several restarts but then it might stop to register again till previous operation is executed - i find it really weird. You can plug anything else in though any time (like flash drive, keyboard and mouse - both usb - both never stopped working <- they are plugged into the usb 2.0 ports though) it will work. Just belkin is weird.
I decided to test the system using driver verifier it did spit some errors, but they were unrelated and only because i mistakenly used low resource simulation option as well. I uninstalled daemon tools and all other potentially hazardous programs and it went ok for like an hour - and i felt relieved but then it bsod while i was browsing - shame. I tried reinstalling windows several times (different versions of it as well) but it still bsod.
I still felt like it was something related to the network drivers but definitely not the dongle ones coz i used them for several years in windows Vista and in windows 7 with no issues. The only thing network related was atheros gigabit lan controller so i googled my motherboard name + atheros lan + bsod and i was given this link (https://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...nder-load.html), same motherboard similar problem. He did the following thing:
using driver version 2.0.14.15 and deleting L1C62x64.sys from windows\system32\drivers (but not from DriverStore), the problem seems to be gone.
I've left torrents running for 3 hours now, and all is fine.
I'll mark the thread as solved
So i did the same and there are no bsods for an hour now (fingers crossed), but system could go for up-to two hours before bsod before, so i am not out of the woods yet, so the question is - is my motherboard faulty coz of the driver + belkin thing or is this normal?
P.S> if another bsod happens i will try reverting nvidia drivers (although doesnt look like gpu is the culprit here), if bsod after that - then i will replace gpu with the spare ATI 6870 if bsod after that i will rma everything, or does it sound like it's faulty already and i have to rma it?
P.S>> soz for so much text just wanted to elimination as much questions as possible.
Thank you in advance.
