WHEA-Logger Event ID 19, Internal Parity Error

    Good morning,

my newly built rig is giving me some headache. When running idle on windows desktop, everything seems to be fine. When playing a game (tried Diablo 3, Crysis 2, League of Legends, Mass Effect 3), the game will crash after a short but random time (within a few minutes), always throwing an application error.

When I look at the event log, I see a lot of WHEA-Logger events, all with ID 19 and "Internal Parity error". Error details are almost always the same. Most of the times it's core 0, I had a few occurences of core 4, most of the errors have the MciStat of the first event log, I found one or two entries of the second type.

I updated the mainboard bios, drivers should all be up to date.

    Components:
Intel Core i5-3570k with stock cooler
    G.E.I.L DDR3-1600 16GB (2x8GB)
    Asus P8Z77M Pro
    Zotac GeForce 680 GTX
Samsung 830 Series SSD 128 GB
    Hitachi 2TB HDD
    LG BD-Drive
    beQuiet 580W PSU

Any ideas or hints? My first guess would be the processor being defect...

    Thanks,
    Daniel

First suspicion is overclocking. If overclocking, return the CPU to default values and see if that fixes the errors.

If not, then please run some of the free CPU stress tests at this link: Additional Hardware Diagnostics
Let us know the results and we'll move on from there.

*sigh* Now I feel like a total newbie...

Didn't ever plan on overclocking the system and ran the board with default bios settings concerning processor. Unfortunatly for this board it means automatic overclocking.

When looking at the cpu clock with the Asus tool, I noticed a clock of 4.3 GHz under load. Didn't think about it (thought it would be ok with Turbo Boost enabled), but after your post I looked up the cpu specs. And they say: max. 3.8 GHz with turbo boost...

Changed bios settings so that the cpu is run with Intel default values. System has been stable so far. Will observe it over the next days, hope it stays this way. Thanks for pushing me in the right direction.
