    1st BSOD on "New" laptop with New OS Install


    Hello so i have had this laptop for about 2 weeks i got it used from a family friend for free i wiped out his previous OS (XP) and installed my own Windows 7 Home Premium 32it

    i got a random BSOD but it was weird the BSOD Screen was REALLY small writing I couldn't even read most of it

    its a Dual Core with 1.5gb Ram its a ACER Travel mate 4200

    How To Find Drivers:
    - search Google for the name of the driver
    - compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
    - visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
    - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
    - - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference Driver Reference

    ok im kinda a little confused i went to the DRT and looked for the drivers but there was no way to "download/update" the driver

    The DRT only gives you the link to find the driver. Use it to get and download it. IE Conexant: Support

    I am afraid you are the only one who can answer that. I can tell you what each of those are and then it is up to you to go there and find the correct one for your mobo.

    The modem drivers probably will not have updates. This is common, and very rarely causes problems. Did you find a driver update for the ENE PCI Secure Digital/MMC Card Reader driver?

    I Have Not been able to find it (also that might fix my people that I made a thread about a day again about how my sd card slot doesn't work), so how would I find the right driver for it?

    Install the Card Reader driver from Acer Support: Downloads & Support Documents - Notebook / TravelMate / TravelMate 4200 you may have to install in XP or Vista compatibility mode. The method would be similar or exactly the same as: Drivers - Install Vista Drivers on Windows 7
