BSOD on Boot, and Boot into Setup

I've been completely unable to boot my Thinkpad T420s at all for the last 36 hours. I left it at work (on), came back to find it off, and have since been unable to get past a BSOD. I installed no software or updated any drivers.

Right now, if I try to regularly boot Windows 7 (professional x64), it either will try to load for a very long time (hours if I let it) and then BSOD, or the BSOD happens immediately. Some of the BSOD will linger on screen until a reboot, sometimes it will only flash for a brief moment.

I've gotten a number of different errors, including Page Fault in Non Paged Area and a STOP Error 0x00000024. I haven't kept track of any others.

I thought it was time for a system restore, chkdsk, or something similar, so I got out some Windows 7 discs and have tried booting from those. Oddly enough I can only get the x86 disc to boot. I've tried multiple discs. A pair of Win 7 professional discs, a pair of Win 7 professional discs, and USB drives with Win 7 professional. In each case, trying to boot from the x64 version immediately give me the BSOD and the x86 version will boot fine. Of course, the x86 version will not let me do a system restore or pretty much anything else, so that doesn't help matters.

I updated the BIOS, and that went smoothly, but nothing changed.

I've since taken the HDD out of my laptop and put it in my desktop as a secondary disc. I ran a check disc to find and fix errors, it ran for a couple hours, reported that it had indeed found some errors and corrected them. When I tried booting again I got the same results as I had before.

I did read the posting instructions, but seeing as how the dump app collector seems to go for the c: drive and I can't boot up my laptop at all, I'm unable to get the correct dump info. If there is a way to specify a different drive and/or location for it to look at, I'd be happy to do so. I would even post the MEMORY.DMP file from the laptop, but it's 834 MB, so I'm not sure that would do any good.

EDIT:
I ran a Memtest and got some errors, so I pulled out one of the two sticks of RAM. Ran Memtest again and didn't get any errors. I succeeded in booting into the Windows 7 x64 setup. I ran a system restore which told me that a critical update had been applied morning before the computer started having BSOD issues. I did the system restore, but trying to boot into windows will flash the BSOD and restart.
