Sorry for the delay getting back, been sick the last few days.

I did run MemTest over the weekend and it showed 0 errors over 25 complete passes. Based upon that I would assume my memory should be okay.

I will upload the .zip file following your instructions shortly. Thank you once again for your time and assistance.

Attached are the error files. Just before i generated the file I ran the program at 2:36pm June 13 to have it crash/stop responding if that helps locate anything more specific.

I see a number of errors that may indicate Windows or registry corruption. My first suggestion would be to read through steps 1-3 and 5-7 of Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. You only need to read through those steps. No need for a clean install (yet).

After you have your important files backed up, the Windows installation media, and the software keys and Windows keys, Repair Install Windows 7.

Sounds lovely. I will do it over the next day and see how the results go!

Windows repair didn't work and ended up causing more "issues" then anything. So based on that I am going to simply do a clean install and get this back to a proper working state.

I would assume this should clear up and resolve any issues. Is there a good thread(s) that explain a good way to backup a computer? Once i have everything setup and working the way I would like it I plan on making a backup/image/restore point so that I don't have to go through this again in the event of an "issue" in the future.

Thanks!

So this the status. I have fully processed a clean install, updates, and program installations to a point where i need/want my computer. Everything appears to be running as required right now. I have created two images during this process, the first being after OS and "core" software has been installed (ie MS Office, anti-virus, etc), the second image being created after all my work related software has been installed and confirmed as working correctly.

I have also setup the system restore functionality within Win7 for additional "headache" saving measures.

Is there anything else i should be doing to ensure a more sane way of recovery (ie is there something not backed up with the restore and system imaging that i should be aware of)?

Unfortunately the original issue was not able to be resolved, however i will mark this thread down as solved as it is technically resolved.

I greatly appreciate your time and assistance looking into this issue. At least I have caught up with regards to Windows OS and its tools for system administration and backup so it should hopefully resolve these issues in the future if they occur.

Cheers!

System images will contain all user data, Windows updates, Windows files, program files, and basically the entire system. The only things the images will not save are hibernating files for when the system hibernates and the system restore points (unless you change settings in one of the 3rd party applications I gave to image an entire partition instead of just the system).

Basically, nothing important is missed by doing system images.

I am sorry we were not able to resolve the original problem, but I am glad you are happy with what you have learned. If you find a solution to the original problem, please post back to help others who may encounter the same problem.

Thank you, and I really appreciate you keeping us updated.
