BSOD When playing games - Driver related.

    Good day everyone !

    BEFORE READING:

I updated the info of this old thread, because I found the source of the problem, read the UPDATE at the end !

As the topic title says im gettin some BSOD after playing games for like 5-10 minutes.

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL <----- This is what I see in the MEMORY.DMP after using WinDbg application.

It seems there is some driver problems(Some USB Port thingy and random MpKsl497dd46d services/drivers-Added image) but im not sure, thats why Im posting this here

EDIT: I also "fixed" an AOD Driver 4.1 issue after posting this lol.

I will attach the DUMP and System health files.

    Entire MERMORY.dmp file :

    ADDITIONAL SYSTEM INFO !
    - x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? = x86
    - the original installed OS on the system? = No. (Windows 7)
    - an OEM or full retail version? = Full Retail
    - What is the age of system (hardware) = About 3-4 years old
    - What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?)= 2 months (reinstalled)

Im using the latest Nvidia Driver released !

    Thanks for the help !

    UPDATE:

Found the real issue, Punkbuster ! Yes, the games I play use Punkbuster...

Now about the problem: Punkbuster have always had problem with Realtek integrated sound cards, wich relate to my crashes (freezes and BSODs with looping sound !)

Im currently trying to get in contact with Realtek about this issue.

"How are you sure this is the problem ?" you say ? Well, basically after DISABLING the onboard sound and playing the games for hours and hours gave me no crashes !

The solution ? : there is no solution... At least fixing it !. But the best one is to get an external sound card, being an USB sound card the best solution to this !

    Markes as unsolved lol !

    Problem Devices:
    Code:
MpKsl497dd46d	ROOT\LEGACY_MPKSL497DD46D\0000	This device is not present, not working properly or does not have all the drivers installed.
MpKsl5cb65dec	ROOT\LEGACY_MPKSL5CB65DEC\0000	This device is not present, not working properly or does not have all the drivers installed.
MpKsla11f4701	ROOT\LEGACY_MPKSLA11F4701\0000	This device is not present, not working properly or does not have all the drivers installed.
The above are related to Microsoft Security Essentials. It looks like it was not properly uninstalled when you removed it and replaced it with avast!. I had a similar problem with another antivirus program that I resolved with Hardware devices are not working or are not detected in Windows.

No .dmp files included in your crash reports. If you ran CCleaner after the most recent crash, that would explain the missing .dmps. Please refrain from using file cleaning programs, such as CCleaner, for the duration of your troubleshooting.

Your BugCheck does indeed indicate a driver issue. Until you have .dmps for us, we cannot determine which driver.

Hello writhziden, thanks for your reply.

I ran the application you advised me to use for the MSE uninstalling issue, but the only thing it detected was a HP D110 Photosmart printer im using (BUT i can use the printer without problems). The MSE drivers/device problems are still there, or showing in the device manager.

About the dump file, i played BattlefieldPlay4Free again so when i get a BSOD i could generate another .dmp file.

I used the Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2 application again and attached the files to the main post, looks like the application cant find the dump files :S, could you please give me instructions in how to retrieve the dump files ? (BTW i stopped using CCleaner after reading your post :P)

    Thanks for the help !

EDIT: Removed a RAM stick (512 MB DDR2) before all that because i couldnt get Windows to Start, now Im gettin kinda desperate lol, but now my PC didnt want to start so i just hit it a bit :X and it started and everything is fine...

Since the jcgriff2 tool cannot seem to get the .dmp files, try Dump Files - Upload to SevenForums as a secondary method.

Hi writhziden, i followed your instructions and compressed and uploaded the entire memory.dmp file in mediafire.

    Here is the link

I īve had many problems with my PC before this happened, they were all similar, maybe you can find something else there.
I also added it to the main post.

Thanks again for the help !

Crashes indicate your mouse as the likely culprit. What kind of mouse are you using?

I note that it is also USB related, so it may not be your mouse and could be another USB device. It may be related to the webcam (this is what I strongly suspect). Here is some helpful info for tracking down the USB issue:
    • Start with USB Driver - General Fix for Problems to resolve the USB issues. Also, USB ports can sometimes enter a safe power state to protect the system from power surges due to USB devices. To reset the USB ports to a nominal power state:
      1. Shut down and turn off the computer.
      2. Unplug the computer from the wall or surge protector (then remove the battery if it is a laptop).
      3. "Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station, disconnect
cables to printers or devices such as external monitors, USB memory sticks or SD cards, headset or external speakers, mouse or auxiliary keyboard, turn off WIFI and Bluetooth wireless devices." (Use Hard Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues HP Pavilion dv5000 Notebook PC series - HP Customer Care (United States - English))
      4. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds. This closes the circuit and ensures all
power from components is drained to clear the software connections between the BIOS
and hardware and clear any corruption in the temporary memory.
      5. (If it is a laptop, plug the battery back into the laptop and then) Plug the computer back into the wall. Do not reconnect any unnecessary peripherals; monitor, keyboard,
and mouse should suffice and be the only peripherals reconnected.
      6. Turn it on to reinitialize the software connections between the BIOS and hardware

Thanks for the reply writhziden, im currently following the USB Driver- General Fix for problems link you gave me.

The web camera Im "using" (I never do), is this one : http://alege.net/webcameras/img/97.jpg Intel cs330 camera !, it is REALLY old, my Father bought it about 8-10 years ago.

And my optical mouse is this one http://www.trainermed.com/docs/produ...ed17cdff-1.jpg
    Genius Xscroll mouse.

BTW what should i do with the Microsoft Security essentials devices problem ? Should i manually uninstall them ?(The Microsoft Fix it software didnt do the job :X)

    Thanks for everything !

EDIT: Followed your instructions. all of them, and Restarted the PC (I added the 512 DDR2 RAM Stick and booted without problems ), Right after windows started, the system searched and installed my optical mouse driver, i think i will plug in the rest of the devices.(gamepad and NOT the camera, i dont even use it LOL)

Gonna try and play BattlefieldPlay4Free, wich crashed and BSODīd me :X

EDIT2: No BSODs so far ! if things continue this good i will mark the problem as solved Thank you so much...

For the MSE devices issues, you have a couple options. You can try uninstalling them manually through Device Manager as an administrative user (Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Device Manager). You could also try uninstalling avast!, installing MSE, uninstalling MSE, and then installing avast! again.

To uninstall avast!, use the avast! uninstall utility.

You may need Device Manager : Hidden Devices to find the devices and remove them.

    Hi writhziden !

I uninstalled the MSE devices manually, no problem.

Now about the BSOD, well i played like 30 minutes of Battlefield last night without problems (I couldnt finish a single round before)

But today i tried to play Crysis a bit but my PC Freezed ! just like that :S, Im currently reinstalling Battlefield to test it again... BTW I can play other games like Ragnarok Online without problems, it seems that games with low requirements dont give me any problem.

EDIT: Played F.E.A.R Single player, and my PC just rebooted :S, BSOD are gone but now my PC just reboots when playing !

Random reboots are usually hardware related. Run some hardware checks.
    • If you are overclocking any hardware, please stop.

    • Monitor temperatures during the following tests.
Use the following programs to monitor the temperatures.

    • Run the boot version of Memtest86+ paying close attention to Parts 2 and 3 of the tutorial. Also, in case Memtest86+ misses anything and comes up with no errors, run the extended version of the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool for at least five passes. These you may want to run overnight since they take a long time to complete (run them an hour before bed each of the next two nights and check before going to sleep that they are still running).

         Warning
Before you proceed with the following, answer these two questions: Are you still under warranty? Does your warranty allow you to open up the machine to check hardware? If you are unsure of the answers to these questions, contact your system manufacturer. WARNING: The steps that follow can void your warranty!!!

For Part 3: If You Have Errors: If you swap any memory components, follow these steps for ESD safety:
      1. Shut down and turn off your computer.
      2. Unplug all power supplies to the computer (AC Power then battery for laptops, AC power for desktops)
      3. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds to close the circuit and ensure all power drains from components.
      4. Make sure you are grounded by using proper grounding techniques, i.e. work on an anti-static workbench, anti-static desk, or an anti-static pad. Hold something metallic while touching it to the anti-static surface, or use an anti-static wristband to attach to the anti-static material while working. If you do not have an anti-static workbench, desk, or pad, you can use your computer tower/case by finding a metal hold in it, such as a drive bay.

Once these steps have been followed, it is safe to remove and replace components within your computer.
