    Laptop still shuts down

I dont know what could be causing the problem, I thought it was overheating for it to randomly shut down (no blue screen instantly shuts off) I am using a program called "CoreTemp" to monitor the temperature of each core (4 cores) and 2 of them hit a maximum of 61C which is no where near hot how i've seen it get (up to 97c)

Is there anything else that can cause a shutdown? I've read some other peoples post and some people recommended to update their nvidia drivers, would updating drivers really fix a serious problem of shutting down?

    I'm using a laptop model: VPCF116FX

Im sorry for the multiple posts, new things just kept happening so was how I updated t, I didn't know you can't delete a post ( not that I know of)

If it got up to 97șC it could've caused some damage.

It hit 97 several months ago when I played a very demanding game. Today I just opened my laptop to check the fan and heatsink, it wasn't clogged as much as I thought it would be. So that aside, I tested it numerous times, I had the game running in the background and observed its temperature and it randomly shut down at 61c ( its been at 61 for like 20 minutes) anyways 61c isn't too dangerous enough for it to shut down, so I dont know why

So you never did give the info requested (make/model of laptop) I also noticed that you have not given the info in the TWO other threads you started about the same issue and now your issue is spread over THREE threads.

Laptop still shuts down - Windows 7 Forums:

Laptop internal dust removal - Windows 7 Forums:

Applied new thermal paste - Windows 7 Forums:

Just a heads up the more info you give us the more we can help with, Also you will get more help if you pick ONE thread and stick with it....
