Computer Freezes for 1-3 mins, 'comes back' as if nothing happened.
New to the forums, first post.
I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this ongoing issue I've been having with my PC. Lately, its been happening when I've been playing Diablo 3, however it has happened when surfing the internet with Chrome. There is no indication of when it will happen. Always happens at random. The computer freezes completely and the sound goes on an infinite loop. Eventually it magically comes back as if nothing happened at all. No error messages popping up from my system tray(for example, I don't see a "Nvidia Driver has recovered from an error")
I don't have any crash dumps/error logs to share at this moment, as I am posting from work. So this thread is a bit of a place holder for later so I can update it with relevant information if you need it.
My System specs are as follows:
i7 2600k(not overclocked)
ASUS P8P67 Deluxe Rev 3.0 Motherboard
ASUS Xonar D2X PCI-e sound card
8 GB Corsair Vengeance (not 100%sure on that)
Windows 7 Professional 64bit (not retail, upgrade from Vista on a student deal)
1TB Seagate HDD
The other day I ran a chkdsk, but it hadn't solved any problems. I have yet to run a RAM test, will likely do that when I get home from work. System restore didn't fix the issue either.
Does anyone have any suggestions, or similar issues? It's getting extremely frustrating!

Go through the steps for Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7
Some of the steps require that you open up your system, so before doing any of the re-seating and connection checking steps, answer these two questions: Are you still under warranty? Does your warranty allow you to open up the machine to check hardware? If you are unsure of the answers to these questions, contact your system manufacturer. WARNING: Some steps in that tutorial involve removing the system case or system panels and can void your warranty!!!
The steps specifically related to the warning are steps 8, 10, and 11.
If you still need help after doing the above, provide us with your Event Viewer logs, your system info, etc. to determine any errors that may indicate the random system hangs. Those logs can be generated using the http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html.
