Well i've just reinstalled windows and everything seems to be totally fine. I've been using my pc a lot and haven't seen any crashes so far. I will mark this thread solved once i replace the current empty dimm slot with a new stick(in the beginning of next week) and if i won't experience any BSOD's/crashes in the oncoming several days.

Just for future reference: i think i should've tried swapping the memory earlier, since my machine became much more unstable after removing the current memstick i'm using. Next time i'll trust the hands on approach more, than the stresstests, it will save me more time.

I believe after removing the current stick, I started having this error with D3: Unable to validate core data files and the game itself crashed much faster than before. I found out that, that error means data corrution, and since reinstall didn't help, then it become appearant that the problems prolly laid within hardware(memory, hardisk or even the cables connecting the HDD).

A big thx to you Jaidy for taking this huge burden off my chest.

Today i had one blue screen while browsing, but the system has otherwise been crashfree. Maybe i should swap both memory sticks? I won't go to the store until i can be sure that the current stick isn't faulty either. Anyway the next 2-4 days will be critical in that decision. The BSOD's i had on the old system had a similar pattern - occuring only once in 2-4 days(while browsing).

If you have another computer using the same type of RAM, swap the sticks and see if the BSOD's still occur.

BSOD when using Chrome, playing Diablo 3
Hi all, been getting BSODs more and more frequently these days, most notably when I'm using chrome or playing D3. The error shown is usually either SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION or DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Could this be due to bad RAM? I've had this computer for nearly 2 years now.
