Low Free Memory

Can low free memory cause a computer to shutdown? This is what I have when i'm idle:

Total:4078
Cached:21xx
Available:21xx
Free:300-500 ish

is that bad for an idle?

And when I run a game, it looks like this:
Total:4078
Cached:13xx
Available:12xx-13xx
Free:0-20 ish

An hour into the game it looks like this:
Total:4078
Cached:9xx
Available:9xx
Free:0-5

Edit: The reason I ask this question is because at first, I thought the problem of my laptop randomly shutting down (not BSOD) was because it was overheating. But I was watching my GPU and CPU temperatures before it shuts down, (its completely random when it shuts down) both GPU and CPU max at 65c, and fluctuate around those temperatures. It can shutdown anywhere between 1-5 hours, and sometimes when leaving the laptop on overnight (has a coolant to keep it under or around 65c) it can still be on. I even opened it up removed any dust from the heatsink (re-applied new thermal paste) and it still shuts down at any time, 1-5 hours and even longer. So now the next variable I hear is that a laptop or desktop can fully shutdown if it is low on memory.

Go to Resource Monitor/Memory and check and see what is using all your memory. Then go to System Configure/Startup and see what is running in the back ground that doesn't need to be running. While your in msconfig go to services and then go to services. Lower left corner check Hide all Microsoft Services. Let us know what services are running.
What all this does is, lets us know what computer we are working with and what some of the basics things that are running on your system. Let us know what you find.
What anti virus do you use and/or have installed?

1.) Uhm I didnt know exactly what you meant by my (my system specs) im on a laptop and this is what it has:

Installed memory (RAM): 4.00GB
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU Q720 @1.60ghz 1.60
System type: 64-bit Operating System
Graphcis Card: Nvidia Geforce GT 330m

2.) On Resource Monitor/Memory i'm not sure which ones is using the most memory, yet do I know which ones are even using memory. Is it every thing thats listed? And the amount of memory used is
"Commit" or "Working Set"? Not too sure. -- Edit: I think the column "Working Set" is the one that shows the amount of memory that is being used, so the top 10 highest numbers on the "Working Set" column are:

svchost.exe: around 130k
chrome.exe: around 88k
explorer.exe (if this is internet explorer, its not even running so idk why its using memory) : around 76k
avgcsrva.exe: around 53k
chrome.exe: around 46k idk why there are 5 chromes.
chrome.exe: around 43k
chrome.exe: around 42k
chrome.exe: around 41k
ComcastAntiSpyService.exe: nearly 41k
Oasis2Service.exe: around 39k

3.) Idk exactly what doesnt need to be running on SystemConfiguration Startup

If those are the top 10 of memory usage I don't see a problem there. For non-Microsoft services I only have my anti virus running the rest are stopped. I'm don't use VAIO or anything like it but sure does look like a lot of stuff running that could be stopped. Others will jump in and give their opinion. Under Microsoft/Configure, (msconfig) I have MSE and Malwarebytes Pro starting. I have my bluetooth mouse and keyboard also starting, it seem to help when using F2 and F8. Nothing else. All those other things will start when you or your computer tell them to when doing something on your computer. Kind of like on demand only. Example, a Office Program. Their is no reason for it to start up when you boot; only when you select it so you can get some work done using the program. When you close the Office Program it stops running in the back ground until you ask it to do some more work.
Concerning My System Specs. If you look in the lower left corner of this post click on My System Specs and that will give you a idea what information is helpful. The reason we would like to have them there is, no mater what number post we are on we can click on that to remind us what your specs are there for we don't have to go through many post looking for your specs.
Now back to your non-Microsoft Services; I would stop all except my security, you can always turn them back on if you change your mind. In start up I would only start your security. If you go to the bottom of you memory chart you will see a colored graft showing how Windows 7 is using your memory and compare after the changes are made.

Simple answer is NO. And cached has the same status as free. Should you really run out of real RAM (very unlikely), the system will use the pagefile.
