    Unexpected shutdown and reboot

    Hi

I am having a strange issue and hard to diagnose the cause.

I would use the pc and sometimes it would randomly shutdown unexpectedly
then the pc would turn back on.

This issue happens randomly and not often but randomly it would occur.

It can happen during gaming, or while using windows.

    I got
    i5 2500k
    16gb of ram..

    etc..

Windows error shows it as event id 6008

    Madmax,
You need to help us to help you by fully and completely filling out your system specs.
    Update your SevenForums System Specs
User CP (located on the top menu bar) |
Your Profile | Edit System Spec
    (left-hand column)

To gather info, use Speccy (my favorite) or SIW or System Info

ADD the word laptop or desktop or netbook to the
    “system manufacturer” block, for example,
    Toshiba Satellite L305D notebook.

Provide full windows version info, for example:
    MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader,
Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor, etc

Scroll down and click on SAVE CHANGES.
    ====================================================

I'll await your reply indicating that the specs are updated.
    thanks for your help,
    karl

    Hi,

There could be several reasons. I recommend following this tutorial so we know what your system specifications are:

System Info - See Your System Specs

Then, from an elevated command prompt run sfc /scannow and post back the results.

Hope you guys/gals can help solve this one..

    ------------

    C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
    Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired
them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For
    example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

    Nope it is not working

The pc just powered off and then turn back on again just now...randomly
while I was using my pc for surfing the internet and watch/recording tv.

It's like turning the power switch off and then turning it back on again.
