New hdd. Not working on laptop but is working on my desktop

Ok I've searched all over the Internet for hours and still havnt found the solution I've been looking for. Excuse me for any mistakes or leaving something out I'll do my best.
I just bought an asus ul50vt laptop(windows 7) without a hard drive. I bought a new hard drive separately which is a Fujitsu 2.5" 120gb. Everything on and in the laptop is all manufacture so nothing has been replaced or changed.

So heres the issue. I popped the hdd in my asus and powered it on an I got missing bootmgr. So I put in the windows 7 dvd(burnt not original) but it just attempts to read and automatically goes and tries to boot from the new hdd. And it's goes in the same cycle. So I had the idea to disconnect the hdd in my desktop and connect the new hdd to my desktop. I booted from the same windows 7 installation DVD but this time the the desktop gave me the option to boot from dvd(it said press any key to boot from cd) so I installed windows 7, went through the whole process and used it like a brand new computer. I shut the desktop down, disconnected the new hdd and reconnected it to my asus. It started to boot but when it got to "starting windows", it froze for about 1/2 second and the blue screen came on for mayne 1/4 of a second at the most. Then restarted itself into the same cycle. I tried the windows 7 DVD but it again Acted like it read it and went straight to the hdd into the cycle again.

    what I've tried already:
Changed the setting in the bios menu to cd/DVD priority and hdd 2nd.

Repair hdd but all it does it look for issues and 15 min later after "attempting to repair" it says cannot repair and asked me to send it to Microsoft and I hit finish and it shuts down.

Taking the battery out and booting with ac cord.

Putting the hdd back into the desktop and hitting start windows normally and it works fine.

So could this be an issue with my disk drive because it feels loose and wiggly when it's pulled out to insert the DVD. Anyone have any idea what's going on or what else I can do? Thanks

    Hi there, Welcome to SF

Couple of points, firstly i dont think theres anything wrong, i believe the only problem is that your machine is not booting from the disc its trying to boot the HDD which was initially blank and then from another machine hence the blue screen.

All you need to do is get the HDD in the target machine and get it to boot from disk by hitting F2 on startup and selecting it, then you should be good for claen install formatting drive on the way Clean Install Windows 7 guidelines here

F2 take me to the bios menu where I have already set DVD as #1 priority. When I hit esc it gloves me the options between boot from DVD or hdd but when I hit DVD it reads as then after about 15 seconds it runs the hdd then freezes and restarts

Sorry I forgot to mention, I used window 7 32 bit. Could this issue be because the laptop might be 64bit? I'm downloading it right now to test it?

Just a though. If your Windows 7 DVD works on another computer then maybe your DVD player in the non working computer is the problem. Your DVD player is not being recognized so it starts looking for the hard drive.

That's what I wa thinking..idk how I can test that though since it doesn't yet boot up. When I push the button to open the disk drive it feels loose..but u can hear the disk drive working but there might be an internal issue. Im about to try USB installation

Once you get the install USB booted you could open a command prompt, and while you have a disc in that CD/DVD drive, see if you can access/read it...

Seems strange you cant access either way, did you create a bootable flash drive using Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool or equivalent, you cant just copy win 7 install dvd to flash drive you have to use software to copy win7 iso into bootable format
