Okay, well, very rarely does BCCode x124 refer to software. It is possible though. After your HDD test, go into the BIOS, system health, and take note of temps and post back with them.

Are you positive you seated the cooler properly?

Your voltages all looked good.

If all else fails, reformat the HDD, without a partition and attempt to reinstall. First, inspect your installation media. If it is dirty, carefully clean it with a soft cloth. If it is scratched, do not use it.

EDIT: Do not use the MoBo manufacturers installation disk. Go to your MoBo manufacturers website and obtain all drivers directly from your other pc and install them from a flash drive.

Ok, well during my test, the power went out, so I had to stop. . .
Anyway, which cooler are you talking about, the CPU heatsink? if so, then yes, It is seated properly and strongly. . . If you are talking about the case fans, then there was no seating, just plugging them in. I am waiting until this storm dies down to start again, so I cannot give you temps right now, or results on the HDD test. I should be able to in about an hour though. . .

I completely understand. Here in Florida, this is the first day we have been sunny in about a week. If I do not respond, please feel free to PM me.

The "long scan" is still going on, just for a update. . .
Now what I really posted this for was to see if the DOS program from WD, Data Lifeguard Diagnostics for DOS, would be better for this situation, since I have a WD HDD. Some of the functions in SeaTools, require a Seagate HDD(if I need the tools), such as repair. Once again, it's still only at 71%, so I'll get back to you when it's done.

Hmm, well I tried the WD diagnostics program, adn it cannot detect my drive.
It gives me error/status code: 0120, which is " An unknown error has occurred during testing. This may be an anomaly. Check connections and retest. If the error repeats, replace the drive."

The SeaTools program detected my drive, and scanned it, but didn't display the results. . .
I'm not sure if it was something I did, or it had nowhere to store the logs, but I didn't see them

Do you have another hdd? maybe you can add a partition to the one on your backup PC and then install it to the new PC. Install Windows 7 to the partition to test.

I don't have another HDD right now,
also, I see that the WD Diagnostics program is not available for windows 7. . .
Would this be the reason the drive is not being recognized?
