    BSOD playing battlefield 3, page_fault_in_nonpaged_area/dxgmms1.sys

I've had a few BSOD problems in the past, and managed to fix them all from other posts I've found on these forums. The BSOD I'm encountering now is continuing to rear it's head through all suggestions I can find, so I thought I'd start a new thread for it.

I've been getting the same bsod repeatedly while playing battlefield 3, though it doesn't occur every instance of playing the game. Lately it's been happening more and more frequently, and I've run out of ideas at this point.

I have an ati 7970, i7 930, 8gb ram, ap6td deluxe mobo, 1k psu. I've run memtest on the ram, sfc /scannow, nothing is overclocked, installed hwmonitor/msi afterburner to monitor temps, updated to 12.4 drivers, rolled back to stock(on disc) drivers, re updated to 12.4, run dxsetup to fix directx, and I haven't a clue what to do next.

I've attached what is required as I read in the sticky guidelines. I eagerly await a response, as this is incredibly frustrating.

The pre-2009 version of ASACPI.SYS is notorious for causing BSOD's. From the below link, click on Utilities and download and install the 'ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Win7 32&64-bit'.
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P7P55D LE

The following drivers need to be updated:

    Code:
    Afc.sys Wed Jul 12 15:48:20 2006 (44B48D24)
    GEARAspiWDM.sys Mon May 18 22:17:04 2009 (4A1151C0)
    RTCore64.sys Wed May 25 16:39:12 2005 (42941D90)
    netr28x.sys Thu Feb 26 14:02:09 2009 (49A60631)
These drivers can be found by searching them in Google and then finding the associated software or driver. Finally, find the latest version of this driver or software and download and install it. Some of the drivers may also be found here (if the driver says 'Windows Update' simply make sure all Windows Updates are installed).

You should also update any other drivers you can think of including graphics, audio, chipset, SSD etc.

You have Razer drivers and software installed but it doesn't look like you're using any Razer products. Is this the case and if so why?

Thank you for the advice! I updated all drivers you mentioned except for the netr28x, which for some reason I can't get to download off the developers website (it's my wireless adapter). I'm not too worried about this one though.

As for the razer drivers, I actually am using a razer naga as my mouse, and am curious as to why the information I provided told you otherwise. Anywho, I also discovered that ati released a new driver that I promptly updated to, hopefully the combination of these updates will resolve my BSOD issues.

Tell me which file is needed and I'll download it and upload it here.

Hmmm, that is odd. Usually Razer devices are very easy to identify but your msinfo file says you're using a generic mouse.

Anyway, post back if you get anymore crashes. Hopefully though you don't.

Gave it one last try before getting you to upload it and finally it worked. Thanks for all your help, hopefully I won't have a need to get any more for a long time :)

Sadly I received yet another BSOD today, this one indicating atikmdag.sys as the cause but with the same PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED-AREA. Do I need to create another thread or is this one still fine?

go to the AMD site and obtain the latest drivers for your graphics card - version 12.6 is the one you're after..

    download and install it,
then download and install the latest CAP (it's on the same page as the driver)

    - takes a while, and the screen blanks about three times while it's installing, so be patient and wait for the on-screen prompts..

Thank you for the quick response! I've been using the 12.6 drivers for about a week now, but I did forget the CAP. With any luck this will be the only problem left on my system :)

Got a whole new BSOD this morning after playing for only ~15min. This one blames it on tmcomm.sys with the error unexpected_kernel_mode_trap. I've never seen this one and a quick google search revealed it to be Trend Micro. Their website claims they know of some BSOD problems with certain products, but my Trend Micro Titanium is not on that list.

I've checked for updates and there are none, is there something I should do here?
