Windows 7: BSOD on start up error 0x0000003b

Alright when I tried going on to start the tests in normal mode I got another BSOD. Then in safe mode and then again in safe mode. Now I'm in last good config and I just ran the event viewer and I am going to post the DMPs right now and then I'm going to get started on the tests starting with the SeaTools.

EDIT #1: Which sea tools should I use?

Status update. I ran the windows sea tools and did all the short tests. Started on my first long one and I got a blue screen. All I can tell you is that it had no bug code but it said the cause was ntfs or something like that. I've seen that before though. Ohh and all of those short tests did pass. I started the dos and all of those short tests passed. I'm currently testing the long test. I did get another error code when I accidentally booted up it. It was error code 0xA. I am not sure what that means but maybe you do.

Update 2 when I run DOS long scan after about 5 or 6% it gives me a green screen with instructions for the prompt. Any ideas? It also says my hard drive is over 70 degrees and asks me if i want to continue I say yes. This is a custom built and my case does feel pretty cool. I'm trying acoustic now. It says its going into idle and is sorta frozen there. I'm guessing that is what it does.

Did the DOS version of SeaTools provide any more information? This sounds like you have a bad hard disk from the steps and crashes that occurred.

If Windows SeaTools does not work properly, I usually recommend DOS. It sounds like both are having some problems though...

Well I hope you are still online and can see this. I did have some problems with the DOS for some reason. I got onto windows with last good config then I went into safe mode without anything. I ran sea tools windows and I just finished Long Fix. It passed.... So now I am going to run Long Generic which I can somehow see that passing. So are you sure that it is a HDD problem. Ohh and btw I got another error code for you. Let me know if you want the DMPs. I believe the error code was 0x74. Have you ever bought from newegg? Do you think I could get a RMA if you really think that this is the problem? And then what about windows? Do you think I could call Microsoft and get another installation key or something. Maybe i can use the key I had originally. Let me know. I'm going to be starting the Long Generic before any of the other tests u suggested.

Please upload the latest .dmps to determine what the last crash was. I am wondering if it was a 0x7A, which is still hard disk related...

Your current license key should be fine for re-installing Windows.

Device Concerns:
Code:
Security Processor Loader Driver	ROOT\LEGACY_SPLDR\0000	This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed.
Unknown Device	USB\VID_0000&PID_0000\5&125B1D65&0&1	43
The SPLDR issue usually means a display card issue. See my analysis for steps to resolve it and USB problems.

Analysis:
The latest crashes may be pointing to memory or other hardware. Proceed with the other hardware diagnostics and let us know if you find any problems or have any questions.

Display Card Driver Issue SPLDR:
You may also want to re-install your display card drivers:
  1. Download the drivers you want for your display card(s)
  2. Click Start Menu
  3. Click Control Panel
  4. Click Uninstall a program
  5. For NVIDIA:
    • Uninstall the NVIDIA Graphics Driver (this should uninstall all NVIDIA software and drivers)
    • Restart your computer
    • Make sure NVIDIA 3D Vision Driver, NVIDIA 3D Vision Video Player, NVIDIA HD Audio Driver, and NVIDIA PhysX System Software are not still listed under Uninstall a program through Control Panel
    • If any remain of the above, uninstall one at a time
    • If asked to restart after uninstalling any of the above, do so, and continue uninstalling any remaining NVIDIA items until all are removed
  6. Restart your computer after uninstalling drivers for all display cards
  7. Install the driver you selected for the display cards once Windows starts
USB Problem:
For the USB problems...
  • Start with USB Driver - General Fix for Problems to resolve the USB issues. Also, USB ports can sometimes enter a safe power state to protect the system from power surges due to USB devices. To reset the USB ports to a nominal power state:
    1. Shut down and turn off the computer.
    2. Unplug the computer from the wall or surge protector (then remove the battery if it is a laptop).
    3. "Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station, disconnect
cables to printers or devices such as external monitors, USB memory sticks or SD cards, headset or external speakers, mouse or auxiliary keyboard, turn off WIFI and Bluetooth wireless devices." (Use Hard Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues HP Pavilion dv5000 Notebook PC series - HP Customer Care (United States - English))
    4. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds. This closes the circuit and ensures all
power from components is drained to clear the software connections between the BIOS
and hardware and clear any corruption in the temporary memory.
    5. (If it is a laptop, plug the battery back into the laptop and then) Plug the computer back into the wall. Do not reconnect any unnecessary peripherals; monitor, keyboard,
and mouse should suffice and be the only peripherals reconnected.
    6. Turn it on to reinitialize the software connections between the BIOS and hardware

Alright thanks a lot. I'm gonna start with uninstalling then re insalling graphics card driver first. Then I'll go to USB which seams pretty quick. Then I will go to hardware diagnostics and I'll let you know how things go. If I get any more BSOD I'll be sure to upload them for you guys. Alright just let me know what tests should go first if that matters. I'm going to start working on it. Thanks again.

Well I'm having some problems... I booted up into safe mode with networking blue screen. Then I restarted in normal safe mode and started to run event viewer so I could upload them and I got a blue screen. Then rebooted with las good conifg blue screen. And now when I boot up before I can hit f8 I get The file may be corrupt. The file header checksum does not match the computed checksum. I'm gonna keep trying though.

Alright after many attempts I finely got on. I did all the usb stuff (although I had no hidden usb connections) and downloaded the driver cure. Everything is up to date except for 2 standard dual channel pci ide controllers which would make sense because the pci slot is where the video card is. I uploaded some more dmps and where can I find the drivers for this, because you have to pay for the link to the driver page with driver cure as you know. Is this a motherboard driver I am assuming? Here is my motherboard website.thanks again.

Ok, so I get this error whilst running starcraft, nothing else I do seems to give this error. Ideally I'd like to remedy this problem without a full re-install, however I understand that this may have to happen. I've attatched the dump folder that the .exe downloaded from the format thread...
