First BSOD - ubuntu on restart

My laptop blue screened/crashed for the first time since I bought it about 8 months ago. When I switched it back on it started up with 'ubuntu' I had no idea what this was so held the power button and restarted it again and selected windows.
I don't know how this ubuntu got onto my laptop I've haven't seen or installed it before? I thought it may be some sort of virus till I googled it.

    Any idea what's going on?

    I've attached the dump files.

    Crash/Ubuntu Behavior:
Nothing in the reports to indicate the crash. Due to Ubuntu loading without you installing it, I still suspect a malicious attack on the system.
    • Download and install Malwarebytes, update it, do not start the free trial, and then run a full scan. Also run a full scan with your antivirus software installed on your system. If you do not have antivirus software installed, see the Good and Free system security combination. for better security steps and scanning tools. Make sure to update the security software before running the full scan.

    Fix Your Boot Sequence:
I also strongly recommend Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Boot to fix the boot sequence.
