BSOD Installing Max Payne 3

I get to about the 4th and last installation disc of Max Payne 3 and I get BSOD. It looks like its almost 100% completed then and then I receive the BSOD.

I have updated all my drivers, motherboard, graphics, ethernet, sound.

I get this message once Windows restarts again:

I believe this would be the main causer of all your BSODs. The GVTDrv64 is a known causer within Windows 7.
Uninstall it through Control Panel, if it still exists in C:\Windows\GVTDrv64.sys let me know.

Memory

Looking at your bugcheck it's likely that a memory corruption event was triggered. Though a driver could be causing the memory to be borked, but we're usually suggesting a memory test before moving forward. Do a scan with Memtest86+. Memtest is a scanner that'll check your sticks for errors.

Warning

Note that the below instructions may break your WARRANTY rules. If you're unsure check manuals, separated warranty papers, stickers on computer for secure permission.

To ensure that we'll know if it's the slots on the motherboard that's broken, or the sticks itself - we have a little procedure we'll recommend. Remove 1 stick, scan the other with Memtest in the current slot. After 7 passes, move the stick to another slot and scan, and so on and so forth until you've scanned all the sticks, and all the slots, one by one.

My motherboard does not have Broadcom. It uses realtek for ethernet.

I did not see GVTDrv64, but there is C:\Windows\GVTDrv64.sys.

I will run memtest and return with results.

Hello again, after further troubleshooting you can do the steps below. By that we can safely remove the driver.

Safely Remove Drivers:
To remove GVTDrv64 safely, please do the following:
- ensure that you have a bootable DVD to use to get into Startup Repair (the Win8 installation DVD will do). If you don't have one, then use this procedure to create a System Repair disk: System Repair Disc - Create in Windows 8
- set a System Restore point (to use with the System Repair disk if you can't get back into Windows).

- download this free program: Autoruns for Windows Use it to disable any entries that name the GVTDrv64.sys driver (by removing the checkmark in the far left column)
- check for any services related to this driver and/or program (use services.msc) and disable them
- check in Device Manager (use devmgmt.msc) for any devices related to this driver and/or program. Make sure to enable the viewing of hidden devices. Uninstall any that you find. DO NOT rescan or reboot yet!
- search your system for the BazisVirtualCDBus.sys driver and rename it to BazisVirtualCDBus.BAD

Then reboot and see if it's removed.

Click Start | Search for 'devmgmt.msc' | Expand all the dropdowns
| Look for

If there's any, reply with the name and we'll sort it out.

I disabled GVT driver using the windows utility. I removed my RAM sticks and tried each individually with different slots. I also tried an older set I had on my older setup and still same results with same BSOD error coded.

If the GVTDrv64 is removed from the Driver folder, you should be good for the next time being.

I am afraid your installation is not genuine. Non-Genuine Windows contains security leaks and also cannot be properly updated which may result in instabilities and blue screen crashes. If you were not aware that your Windows was Non-Genuine, contact your seller or the company that provided the seller and file a complaint. Also let Microsoft know of the problem.

I am sorry, but due to forum rules, we may not assist you further until you install a genuine copy of Windows 7.

I really doubt that this has to due with Windows installation being valid. I do have a valid 7 license. I will post results with license applied later and will take it on from there.

Just an update: With deamon tools uninstalled I still get the same error.
