That is how Windows seems to work. I have three users on my system, and if I adjust the volume with one, the other two are affected. I did find this: How do I keep individual user volume settings on my computer?

Maybe it will help you. I will also ask others to take a look.

I have been looking and trying and haven't found a way to do that with Window7. Installing a 3rd party program to do such a trivial thing don't make sense to me. I personally change the volume several times a day, pretty easy I would think. If it gets to loud my cat gets angry.

My best suggestion is have each user turn on mute when their done and the next user can go from their.

You're welcome. Let us know if you find out anything further in your searches to resolve it. We would also be interested in finding out if there is a way that we have not yet learned.
