    Crashes while playing video files

I've been having trouble playing video files; mainly .avi and .mkv, over several different media players: VLC, BSPlayer and WMP.

They seem to play just fine for 10 minutes or so but afterwards the player crashes and the system freezes almost completely (Task Manager sometimes responds after a while so I can end the processes in question)

Hello chestbuster and welcome to Sevenforums.

To be able to help you, we'd need you to attach some files in order for us to analyse your crash. The below link will guide you through some steps for catching these files. If you have any questions just ask us.

Thank you but I seem to have isolated the issue; a case of hardware overheating.

If you think it's because of the dust, there must be a lot of it. It could be bad hardware too though.
