Getting random BSOD! sometimes during gaming or idle!

    Hello,

i dont know why, but my Pc is having a hard Time.
It has many BSODs since some months (2) ago, and i still couldnt fix the problem.
I already tested the ram with memtest.
    CPU/GPU stresstest.
    Antivirus checkup.
    Malewarebites checkup.
Also did a Clean windows instalation 5 times already
Everything is OK but i still get BSOD.

last 2 error codes i got was:
    0x00000050
    atikmdag.sys

    and

    0x0000003B
    System_service_Exception

I also read here in the forum and did already a "Check Windows for corruption" SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker with no Errors.

i Hope u can help me!
    Thx

    Hello,

Since no1 answerd yet i started to try other stuff.
I changed my Graphiccard (with the one on my Parents PC)
so now i traded my ATI HD 5750 for a Nvidia GTX 260.
Everything was working fine but then, again Bsod with this codes:
0x0000007E and right after boot another1 with the code 0X00000024

So i made a backup of all important files and started a new Clean Installation of windows 7.
Right after the installation on the Starting Screen of Windows 7 i got a new BSOD with this code:

    0x00000019
    Bad_Pool_Header

    Im desesperate :S
    Hoping for any support

Sorry you were missed, we have been absolutely swamped with users having blue screen crashes the past week, and those of us helping have been spread very thin because of it. I will get to your thread as soon as I am able. I need to help out on of the BSOD team members with another thread first, so it may be 20-30 minutes before you get an analysis from me. Just wanted you to know you weren't missed completely.

    Analysis:
The crashes you had initially pointed to your display card, its drivers, or your DirectX installation. Your most recent crash points to memory or driver issues. You had two crashes that indicated memory. We should check the memory first since you had a crash during an installation and that generally indicates hardware:
    • If you are overclocking any hardware, please stop.

    • Run the boot version of Memtest86+ paying close attention to Parts 2 and 3 of the tutorial. Also, in case Memtest86+ misses anything and comes up with no errors, run the extended version of the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool for at least five passes. These you may want to run overnight since they take a long time to complete (run them an hour before bed each of the next two nights and check before going to sleep that they are still running).
         Warning
Before you proceed with the following, answer these two questions: Are you still under warranty? Does your warranty allow you to open up the machine to check hardware? If you are unsure of the answers to these questions, contact your system manufacturer. WARNING: The steps that follow can void your warranty!!!

For Part 3: If You Have Errors: If you swap any memory components, follow these steps for ESD safety:
      1. Shut down and turn off your computer.
      2. Unplug all power supplies to the computer (AC Power then battery for laptops, AC power for desktops)
      3. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds to close the circuit and ensure all power drains from components.
      4. Make sure you are grounded by using proper grounding techniques, i.e. work on an anti-static workbench, anti-static desk, or an anti-static pad. Hold something metallic while touching it to the anti-static surface, or use an anti-static wristband to attach to the anti-static material while working. If you do not have an anti-static workbench, desk, or pad, you can use your computer tower/case by finding a metal hold in it, such as a drive bay.

Once these steps have been followed, it is safe to remove and replace components within your computer.

    • We should check memory compatibility:
Download and install CPU-Z and Upload screenshots of the CPU, Mainboard, Memory, and SPD tabs. In the SPD tab, upload an image of each slot.

    no Overclock!

After using the the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool, he found so errors. then i checked the RAM and from the 4 i had, 1 had something strange maybe thats why i was getting the bsod.

Until now PC is working with 3 RAM and still no BSOD for over 1h.
Here is a Pic of the problem:

So i will be working now with 3GB ram and hoping it will fix my problem!!

The pictures are a bit blurry, so it is difficult to tell exactly what the problem is. I am guessing you are pointing to some solder spill, but I cannot tell if that is blending with any traces from the image taken. Or maybe the chip got too hot and melted the solder, which could also cause problems. Regardless, if the system is running fine with the module removed, it is probably faulty. Keep monitoring until you feel confident it is resolved and then let us know at that time if the problem is solved. You may also mark the thread solved when you feel it is so. :)

Sry for the poor qualitiy of the picture, but since its so Small the RAM (problem) that i couldnt get a better picture of that part.
In any case after this new Clean installation the RAM removed, its everything working and until now no problems at all.

What i also checked was if the RAM slot in the Motherboard was Faulty and as it seams there is also a problem. i tried to put there one of the 3 RAM i had and i got another freeze.
So maybe it was 1 RAM and the RAM slot itself doing that many problems.

Now im not using that RAM slot and just using 3 RAM and now problems, hope it stays like that.
I want to update my hardware during Christmas this year.

Still i will test/check this now around 1 week and if its solved i will say so.
    Thx for the Help

You're welcome. I wonder if the bad slot caused the module to overheat a chip. Don't worry about the poor quality of the images. Your tests seem to narrowed it down.

One question: Have you tried the suspected bad module in one of the known good slots?

But if you play with the other three modules, there is no blue screen, correct?

Still would be good to do the above so I am more familiar with what modules you have and your hardware in general. :)
