Restart not working

    Restart not working


    Can anyone help please.
    Windows 7 64 bit Acer laptop 5810TZG
    If I select "Restart" the process seems to commence. When it reaches the stage of a black screen, nothing else happens. It is not "Off". I have to hold down the power button for several seconds to get it off and then I can restart normally.

    I do not have much information to go on since I do not have the system logs. The https://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html provide those logs and can help with problems other than blue screen crashes. Please follow those instructions. In the meantime, I will give you some general troubleshooting steps through a tutorial made by one of our experts.


    General Troubleshooting:
    Go through the Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7

       Warning
    Some of the steps require that you open up your system, so before doing any of the re-seating and connection checking steps, answer these two questions: Are you still under warranty? Does your warranty allow you to open up the machine to check hardware? If you are unsure of the answers to these questions, contact your system manufacturer. WARNING: Some steps in that tutorial involve removing the system case or system panels and can void your warranty!!!


    The steps specifically related to the warning are steps 8, 10, and 11.

ok i restarted my computer and for some reason my raid drive reads as unformatted how do i correct this and preferably without losing the data. did a registry restore and a memory scan with no affect.

firefox restart not working

ok when i install an add on or theme i have to restart ff for installation to complete. when i click restart ff it doesn't restart when i start ff manually, install is not complete. the only way i can get it to complete is to restart pc whic obviously is a pain
