Blue Screen=Hard ware problems?
I have a acer aspire 5745G
i3 350
geforce 330m
ram 2gbx2
It has no problem on winXP for one year of use
Then I upgrade the OS to win7 64, and I start to see error such as wifi can not connect and then system freeze, I have to hard restart, but not yet blue screens.
So I did a clean format and installed clean win7 64. and I upgrade the ram to 4gbx1 2gbx1
From that point I have seen more than 10 blue screen crushes (memory corruption, ntfs.sys, win32.sys, csrss.exe). Seems like the blue screen start to occur after the sp1 update of win7. After 6 months, I thought maybe 4gb and 2gb is not good for dual channel, and may cause blue screen.
So I left one 4gb ram in there. however I still got 3 blue screen crush (memory corruption) in 2 months. Then I upgrade the ram to 4gbx2.
However, I got other 2 blue screen crush(usb host) in this month.
During this Blue screen fighting period. I checked ram with mem86+ v4.2, all ram setup can pass 2 tests no error. I checked HDD with dos version seatools, no errors. I contacted MS support, they tell me to upgrade drivers, and then after there was still problems, they tell me to downgrade drivers, especially geforce drivers.
Till today, this Blue screen is not yet fixed, I kept most of the dump files.
I am wondering should I send this notebook back to acer to check, I still have a 1.5years warranty from the 3 years extend warranty I paid. What I am worried about is that the blue screen occurs once or twice a months. Acer may just send it back to me and say there was no problem.
Please advise me should I consider send it back to acer. which I need to do a 0 level hard drive format, and if they change the main board, I will lose my expensive win7 64 since it is activated with cpu and main board serial.
