Windows 7: Windows failed to start: \Boot\BCD 0x000000f

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
Windows failed to start: \Boot\BCD 0x000000f

Hey guys, I was just using my computer when it just froze for no reason. So I had to do a (cold reboot?) and it froze on the TOSHIBA BIOS screen, which then took me to this error. I thought this was going to be easy to fix because I had it a few weeks ago (used system restore) but now I can't get to any of the advanced options. So I put in my W7 install disc I created ages ago and it booted up to the 'repair my computer'. I tried a couple of options but it said it couldn't find my hard drive listed :0 So I rebooted a few more times and tried different options to no avail. I changed the booting priority to the disc drive but it's not even booting to the disc anymore! The hard drive is still working though because it was in the boot priority list. I also have noticed whenever I reboot I'm hearing a click sound every time, perhaps it's from the hard drive? What should I do? It's just plain annoying because I will probably have assignments to write next week :/

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1

I've managed to boot into the install disc, and I selected 'repair Windows'. So it said it 'found errors with the computer's startup options'. This is what the repair details say:
'The following startup options will be added:
Name: Windows 7 Home Premium (recovered)
Path: Windows
Windows Device: Partition =C: (608977 MB)

Name: Windows Recovery Environment (recovered)
Path: Recovery\0157af63-b0cb-11e0-8973-d131825ca734\
Windows Device: Partition= C: (608977 MB)

Name: Windows Recover environment (recovered)
Path: Recovery\WindowsRE\Winre.wim
Windows Device: Partition = D: (1500 MB)
I'll reboot back into the hard drive and see what happens...

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1

It's worked!!! It booted back into Windows!! I rebooted with the CD taken out and it's fine! I have no idea why it happens though... For anyone else with this issue, burn a Windows 7 ISO to a DVD and go into your BIOS setup and change the cd/DVD drive to be the first boot device. Then let the DVD do its thing and it should (hopefully) fix it for you.

Thanks for letting us know!
FYI - you can also go to Start...All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc and create a disk to use if this happens and you don't have an installation DVD
