    Status 0xc000000f I'm stuck and don't know anything about computers!!!


    Hey I have a Gateway ZX6961 Windows 7 Prem OA Acer. It's a touch screen, and the guy at best buy sold me the computer fully loaded so I was given no discs. Everytime I turn it on it comes up that I need installation and backup or restore discs or whatever. I have no discs. It says status 0xc000000f. I have no idea what to do. The geek squad told me my hard drive failed, but the computer says it may be a hardware problem or a software change may be the problem. Please help I have no idea what I'm doing and I know absolutely nothing about computers. Please.

    Work through the steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Boot and report back after each step what your results were. We may provide additional troubleshooting based on your results.

Guys, Today my OS got freezed at the loading screen and it doesn't boot anymore. After that I restarted my PC and chose the safe mode but it got stuck on the drivers selection part. Now I got this: "Windows failed to load because the system registry file is missing, or corrupt"
i cant get windows every time i try i get the message "File:\boot\BCD\ Stauts: 0xc00000f Info: an error occcured while trying to read the boot conifguration data." ive tried going into windows repair from my repair cd but theres no os in recovery options

So what happened was I went to restart my computer, while I was waiting my powercord unplugged (battery is dead so its always at 0 charge) and it shut off. When I tried to turn it back on I get a windows boot manager error stating the boot selection failed because a required device is inaccesible....

So, this is my Mothers laptop and she wanted Windows XP, so I went ahead and tried to dual boot it along side Windows 7. I shrinked the volume and did all those steps of one of the topics here, anyway I noticed the laptop kept constantly booting to Windows XP automatically? It's frustrating...
