BSOD - Typically occurs when running applications e.g. games/antivirus

EDIT: I had a fresh BSOD while trying to upload the perfmon log. I have included the dump for that separately. The reason was something along the lines of 'attempt to write over non writable portion'

    Hello all,

I have been experiencing a variety of issues with my computer ever since re-installing Windows 7 Professional as a student upgrade edition (no pre-installed sp1 - had to install a ton of updates).

I have had various issues occur, many of which have been fixed only to lead to new problems arising.

I have various suspicions about the sauces but I would like you guys to take a moment to look over the problem and suggest any solutions.

Attached is the mini-dump from the last day or two, which contains several BSOD logs.

The computer also has problems booting, which often means that the computer needs to be repaired using the System Repair or Restore tool.

I have been having problems for almost 6 months now.

    Thanks in advance,

    Mike

    Edit: Added the perfmon report

You have a 802.11 USB Wireless LAN Card - Win7 doesn't like these devices, especially when coupled with older (Vista-era) drivers - it will spit out BSOD's rapidly under these conditions. Here's my rant about these devices:
I do not recommend using wireless USB devices. Especially in Win7 systems.
These wireless USB devices have many issues with Win7 - and using Vista drivers with them is almost sure to cause a BSOD.
Should you want to keep using these devices, be sure to have Win7 drivers - DO NOT use Vista drivers!!!
An installable wireless PCI/PCIe card that's plugged into your motherboard is much more robust, reliable, and powerful.
nVidia chipset (and networking) drivers date from 2008 - these must be updated from the nVidia website (World Leader in Visual Computing Technologies | NVIDIA) Depending on the age of your system they'll either be under the nForce section or the Legacy section. If you have difficulty locating them, please post back with the exact make and model of your motherboard (or your system make and model if it's an OEM system).

Your Bytemobile Kernel Driver Loader dates from 2008 - and quite a few of my search results show that this program has issues with AVG. Uninstall it immediately.

There's a lot of video issues in the BSOD's. Please update your video drivers. If that doesn't fix things, then please run these free diagnostics (concentrating on the video tests): Additional Hardware Diagnostics

If the above steps don't stop the BSOD's, please zip up and upload any new memory dumps with your next post - and we'll see what we can figure out from there.

The following info is just FYI, I've already addressed the issues that I saw in the above paragraphs

    - Further info on BSOD error messages available at: http://www.carrona.org/bsodindx.html
    - Info on how to troubleshoot BSOD's (DRAFT): http://www.carrona.org/userbsod.html

Hey John, thanks for the advice on the wireless card!

I have just reconnected the computer and will look into the drivers. I had to take a few months out as it was just more hassle than it is worth!

I'll try connecting directly to the LAN and see how that works out...

Would any of the above problems be a reason for the computer to fail to boot? The only way I have managed to get my computer working is to restore from a System Image Backup, and then not let the computer be switched off (Hibernating it instead).

There's lot's of reasons for the system to fail to boot. But it depends on how far it gets when you turn it on.
Do you see the Windows splash screen?
