    BSOD after Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 uninstallation in Windows7

    Hi,

    I tried to uninstall Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 from my Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit Acer Aspire 5732z and have been getting BSOD upon normal booting. Unfortunately, I do not have any restore points on my system .

    So far I tried a number of things like emptying the temp folder, using advanced system care (both quick and deep clean), cc cleaner, kavremover (multiple times) with no success.

    This is as far as my skills take me , and so I felt I required some support from more knowledgeable folks in this forum. I have attached the SF diagnostic zip file. Please let me know how I should be able to resolve the BSOD issue.

    PS: I have not approached kaspersky folks as have heard mixed reviews regarding their support.

    Thanks,
    Talon

    You have only given us one BSOD report. If you get others please upload to us. Based upon that one, and one is just a guess, this is the cause. Update driver

    Thanks for the quick response.

    Sorry, I did not quite understand "one BSOD" report. Did you mean that I should reboot the laptop and do another SF diagnostic on the laptop ? Assuming the same, I have generated one more report through the SF diag tool (attached).

    One other thing that I failed to mention even in my earlier post is that, both the times, when I tried to generate the BSOD report, upon clicking the last "windows" button in the SF Diag tool, I got the following error:

    Unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.
    Could not find file 'C:\WindowsUpdate.txt'.

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
    To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
    application or computer (machine.config) must have the
    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
    The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.

    For example:

    <configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
    </configuration>

    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
    will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
    rather than be handled by this dialog box.

    Thank you..Atheros it is !!:)

    I had the two Atheros drivers updated and the laptop booted fine this time.

    I had ignored all previous google search results with Atheros and Kaspersky in them as BSOD seemed to appear in those cases after installation of Kaspersky and not during uninstallation. It appears that I should have given it a shot earlier.

    Thanks again,
    Talon
