BOSD after useing magic partition error code 0x0000007b...

ok im going to try to explain my problem in as much detail as possable so hopefully you(the community) can help me sort this out. today i used magic partition to make a 110gb partition on my 3tb hard drive, shortly after BAM blue screan of death with error code 0x0000007b apon further inspection in startup repair i found that the BCD needed rebuilt so i followed instructions on that centered around various command prompt entries.

this is where one of two things happened, either i successfully repaired it and there were other problems underlieing or i just made things worse because the next time i tried to boot up instead of BSOD the screan went black with text saying windows failed to start a recent hardware or software change might be the cause bla bla file boot\bcd status 0xc0000098 info the windows boot configuration data file does not contain a valid os entry.

the startup repair details revealed no os files found on disk, repare action: partition table repair error code 0x490 so at this point i got tired of searching through forums and finding results that dont seem to get me anywhere and decided to make my own forum which is where you are now. so i beseech to assist me in repareing my computer this is my last effort seriously i cant even restore to factory defaults so i have no other options.

    Hi Pyrasius

I am not sure what command prompt entries you tried but... looks like the BCD is screwed. You could try the below to get your system back

With the repair CD inserted, from the list of recovery tools, select Command Prompt, and enter the following:

    Bootrec.exe /fixmbr

Reboot and see if it solves your problem

If that doesn't work, you can substitute that command for the following list (i.e. run the following commands if /fixmbr did not work):

    Bootrec.exe /FixBoot
--- Writes a boot sector onto the system partition to start Windows

Bootrec.exe /ScanOs ---- Scans all disks for Windows installations and displays them.

Bootrec.exe /RebuildBcd --- Scans all disks for Windows installations and prompts you to pick the ones you want to add to the BCD.

After that, restart the computer and boot from the hard drive. Hopefully, that should solve your problem...

thank you for your responce, i tried all of those the first two came back with:

    "the opperation completed successfully"

    and the second two with:

    "successfully scanned windows installations.
    total identified windows installations: 0
    the opperation compleated successfully.

but the problem still persists, do you know of anything else i could try?

    Ok

It looks like your windows partition is not active..

With the repair CD inserted, from the list of recovery tools, select Command Prompt, and enter the following:

    1. diskpart and press enter

    2. once there type list disk. it should show the number of disks that's installed.

    3. select the appropriate disk by running for example select disk 0 or select disk 1 etc

    4. once the disk is selected type list volume.. this should show under "Info" which partition is set to Boot Flag....if you dont see it ... then thats what we need to do next... we need to make the windows partition active

let me know what u see here... then we can do the next step

disk 0 online 298gb 0b blank blank=>is this the disk you wanna boot from? so the 298GB disk?
What is disk 1 (may an external usb disk?) . detach it to make troubleshooting easier.

no theres no external disk attached my guess is that there is an extra small support drive built in...or something allong those lines, how do i set disk 0 to be the disk it boots from?

edit* before this happened there was an unaccesable drive section for microsoft office 2010 its probably that

Download Partition Wizard bootable CD and burn it on working machine. Then boot sick machine from that CD or DVD. Post camshot of the partitions.

Free download Magic Partition Manager Software, partition magic alternative, free partition magic, partition magic Windows 7 and server partition software - Partition Wizard Online last download "bootable CD"
Partition Wizard Bootable CD allows user to manage partition directly with partition manager bootable CD.

That gives us a good picture of the partitions.

    BTW:
volume 0 d repair disk udf dvd-rom 165 mb healthy blank=>this is your DVD drive
volume 1 c recovery ntfs partition 14 gb healthy blank=>probably your partition to "recover to factory settings"
volume 2 e blank blank removeable 0 b no media blank=>don't know. But is a removeable disk. usb-stick?
volume 3 blank blank fat partition 101 mb healthy hidden =>don't know yet. 100MB is usually "system reserved", but then it's ntfs not fat! And not hidden.
    --------------
It looks like your win7 partition is gone! Don't create partitions or delete anything now. Maybe I can recover it

office 2010...was it a drive called Q? If so..it's a fake volume for office 2010 click and run. So not a real partition! recovery environment doesn't see that, because win7 isn't running
