My friend's computer has been BSODing (random error messages, usually memory related) with increasing frequency over the past few weeks. It currently blue screens at the windows logo, giving a generic "windows has encountered an error" message (no error code). I cannot get into the desktop to download any crash files (even in safe mode). I am fairly certain the CPU is the issue, as putting it in my (previously working) computer destroyed two of my motherboard's DIMM slots. Additionally, putting my working CPU in his computer did not affect the BSOD problem at all.
This is about all I have to work on, sorry. If we can figure out a way to get it to boot that would be a splendid beginning.
