BSOD opening almost anything. STOP: Error 0x0000001E

Hi Seven Forums! I've been recently getting the BSOD when I open almost any program, when I try to open it my display stops and I get the BSOD error STOP: 0x0000001E. The latest thing I would have downloaded with suspicion would be a game torrent. I've gotten a BSOD error STOP: 0x00000050 and error STOP: 0x0000001a, but mainly error STOP: 0x0000001E. I'm thinking that my RAM is corrupted, I've been searching all night for help and looks like its a memory problem. I'm currently in Safe Mode with Networking. Anyways, sorry for using Winrar, I didn't have 7-ZIP installed.

    Hello,

    Code:
avast! Network Shield Support	ROOT\LEGACY_ASWTDI\0000	This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed.
Seems Avast might be installed incorrectly. I recommend uninstalling Avast, and use Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows . Just for troubleshooting.

Just for safe measures please run a RAM - Test with Memtest86+

    Post back results.

How do I download Microsoft Security Essentials in safe mode because I can't get anywhere in normal. My Memtest86 test so far, looks bad.

What are my options now? I'll probably check my build after the test. I'd be fine for me to get new RAM.

I do suggest new RAM. However, it could be 1 stick, it could be them all. How many RAM sticks do you have? 4?

If it is 4, check the ram in 2s.

    RAM1 in Slot 1
    RAM2 in slot 3

    RAM1 in slot 2
    RAM2 in slot 4

    RAM2 in Slot 1
    RAM3 in slot 3

    RAM2 in slot 2
    RAM3 in slot 4

Ect...(this will only work if you have dual channels.)

This is just a precaution to make sure the RAM is bad and not the slots. You do not have to do this if you just want to buy new RAM. But I do suggest it. It is also very time consuming.

I have dual channel, I think I'll just get new RAM, but I'm not sure if it's my RAM. Could it be a software problem?

It could be both. But with these tests showing up like they are, the RAM is bad for sure.

It varies. Depends on how many RAM sticks you have, the GB size and such.
