Well you do have an onboard Integrated ATI Radeon™ HD 4250 GPU. So yes please do try with the onboard graphics with the graphics card removed..... and i think you need to install the latest driver for this HD 4250 as well.

As an aside, I want to thank you for all your help. I know it's probably not a huge deal to you, but I sincerely appreciate all the help and effort you (as well as MagusCreed, and HonorGamer) have put forth to solve this shouldn't-be-happening issue. I've been ready to pull my hair out over this several times now (and trust me- I've had long hair all my life, so that means something!), but your help has made this a successful endeavor insomuch as I don't have a bald, bleeding scalp.

With all respect to that, please keep in mind that I had been troubleshooting for some time even before I posted here. I had forgotten about this place for a while (since this is my first non-XP experience), and was reminded by iBuyPower, when they recommended that I come here and post for help (which is shady to me, but whatever).

But yeah, sometimes I just need a whiteboard, like Dr. House. I do the same thing at work, too. I am a mid-level support professional for a very widely-used (and widely customized) customer relationship management platform, and I often need to talk to others there to get my ball rolling, too.

1. First thing.... the memory dump has spit out KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (1e) with c0000005 parameter... This is a

Code:

0xC0000005: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION
A memory access violation occurred.

Check you RAM's .... you did mention on your first post.... that you did memtest.... how many passes did you do that.... You need to do at least a min of 8 passes to confirm your ram sticks dont have errors
NOTE: You can do this test again after you try STEPS 2 and 3 and still you get BSOD.

2. Assuming the above has gone without any errors... then next step did you install the display drivers from here for your onboard Radeon HD 4250. Please be careful not to install any other software that comes with it like the control center and AMD one.... Just install the driver... if the other ones do get installed ... remove them. If the answer to that is Yes...on to the next step

Thats your usb mouse error (5 times).. this maynote be much of a problem.... but just for troubleshooting sake.... try another mouse....

Wow, thanks!

I don't remember how many passes I did when I did Memtest, but I seriously don't think it was 8 passes. I'll set that up sometime tomorrow, as I'm literally minutes from going to bed.

One thing to note, though, and I'm sure you're already aware, but I gotta say just in case. If we can get this up and running with no BSODs for a solid amount of time, I will definitely want to go back to my 6700 series video card, so I may need to do the video card part again. So, just to clarify - if I do so, then I need to make sure I just get drivers and no software, yes?

yes only the drivers and the not the complete software....

here is how to do it ... the exe file that you download from the site..; extract the contents using 7zip into a folder and when you install the drivers use the update method and point it to this folder.

And yes.... we will get the 6700 once this is up and running

At this point, I am assuming I know nothing of how to use a PC, so I'm even going to ask the dumb questions.

Since I need so many passes, and I remember from back in April when I tested that it took forever - is it cool if I were to just let Memtest run overnight, or while I'm away or something, or should I be standing over it like a hawk?

nope

you dont need to be the hawk... leave it overnight.... should probably take 5 to 6 hours or 8hours... max...if the sticks are bad.... you will get an error before that as well.

PS.... test the rams 1 stick at a time...

Yeah, that makes sense, since it could simply be one stick.

If I see any red, then I'll just RMA the sticks, and not the whole machine, saving me a lot in shipping......which I'll then send some to you for a beverage of your choice.

Also could be a bad ram slots... if the sticks pass without errors... try the slots...for extra surety !!!

Just finished the first test a short while ago, with no errors. When I head to bed tonight, I'm going to switch the RAM sticks around test again.

Now, testing the RAM Slots....how would you recommend it? Left to me, (assuming both sticks of RAM are error free), I would just put a stick in each one and see which (if none) boot up. In respect to the attached image, it would be a pattern like this:

1, 1&2, 1&3, 1&4, 2, 2&3, 2&4, 3, 3&4, 4

So that I could keep track as to what's what. As for how everything was laid out when I bought the machine, the RAM was in Slot 1 and 3 (the two black slots). I am currently testing in Slot 1.

Is there any rhyme or reason as to where I should put the RAM once both are tested?

I hope you tested the sticks one stick at a time..... if so... the slot where you inserted it is also checked.... so you can drop that from the test.....

To top it you only have 2 X 4GB rams sticks..... so just try one more slot ... the point here is to rule out the rams and the slots where they were from the BSOD process....

to boot your system ... you just need one stick...

More good news!

It's the second RAM stick! MUCH cheaper to RMA than the whole thing. And before I tested the second stick, I checked the other port, with the first stick as the control, and it's fine.

Though now I feel like a weiner since I was so adamant that inspected them before. I just didn't do it right. I have a feeling when I did it before, I probably tested the same stick twice. Either way, I'm sure I can survive on 4gb ram while I get the other one replaced.

And this time, I've marked the good one!
