BSOD browser related/vssc.exe related

Been getting fairly regular BSOD's that only seem to happen when using a web browser. Chrome BSOD fairly regularly. Firefox less so (Only once). I've also had a vssc.exe BSOD when the pc was idle. Windows fully up to date. All drivers up to date. No conflicts. I've run a sfc scan with no errors or problems reported.

The pc is brand new and I have the feeling that something has not been set-up correctly.

Any help appreciated.

I am not sure why you would use two antivirus ..... AVG and Avast at the same time..... The BSOD are all related to this -- file manger driver ...

My recommendation.... please uninstall both and start using MSE - Microsoft Security Essential... Its light on the system as well.

Thanks for that. The AVG was the AVG toolbar on Firefox. Got rid of it anyway. Have downloaded MSE and got rid of Avast. Will see how we go from here.

Thanks for the quick reply.

No BSOD's yet. Although there was no specific repeatable BSOD with Chrome or Firefox, just that it tended to happen when (But not always) there was embedded video or occasionally clicking a tab/closing or opening the browser.

I'll see how it goes, but so far so good.

Cheers.
