Where did you get the new copy of Windows 7 Ultimate? How is it activated?

You know you own the copy which comes with the Acer for the life of the PC, to reinstall as often as you please in the way which you choose. It is a waste of $100+ value of the OS to not use the Product Key on the COA. It also has nothing to do with the crashes you're experiencing which version you are running.

So let's start by helping you get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 - everything is in the link. Pay special attention to how drivers are handled in Windows 7 which is much different from XP, and stick closely with the Best Practices which are in the tutorial so we know you have a baseline perfect reinstall.

Then if problems persist post back and we will help you with the Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7
