    BSOD Random startup, Process1_init.._Failed

    First time poster

I am running Windows 7 Professional x64. I am at a lost what to do... I have included a screenshot of the error and all the necessary information needed from your sticky.

What I have tried to do to fix this problem:
    - Switched my bootcat.cache with my laptop OS (which is the same)
    - Tried running virus/malware scans which came up clean using MicSE and MalwareBytes
    - Tried running in safe mode which still blue screens.
    - Tried updating all my drivers while using my laptops bootcat.chace file to boot.
    - Tried taking out and re putting my RAM, Graphics Card, Hard drive, included dusting.

    What was solved:
    - I can successfully boot my PC if I use my laptops bootcat.chace but upon restarting or shutting of the PC it just bluescreens with the same error again. Its the only way I can boot my PC now is by constantly switching the bootcat.chace.

The latest thing I would have installed just before the blue screen would of been Cursed Client (World of Warcraft addon manager) and World of Warcraft.

It seems the only possible way I can make this PC work now is if I use my Win Repair CD and copy my bootcat.cache off my external, which is from my laptop, to my current bootcat.cache. Doing this every single time I boot up the PC can get annoying

Any help is much appreciated! :)

    Welcome to the forum,

There aren't any dump files in your upload, can you make sure it is set to create them, #6 of this tutorial,

I don't mean to be a pushover and I do understand the amount of issue's your staff must be going through. Keep up the good work!

Just wondering if it works like a queue system where I will eventually be answered. Feel a little left out here

Though I am still troubleshooting myself, I have come up completely empty. I may reinstall windows when I get around to it, but hoping it won't have to come to that.

    Thanks!

I don't think anyone here would mind a "bump" 6 days after last thread activity.

It looks like you might not have SP1 installed. If you don't, installing it may solve your issue.

Would you put your info into your system specs so that they are readily available?

    Update your SevenForums System Specs
User CP (located on the top menu bar) |
Your Profile | Edit System Spec
    (left-hand column)

To gather info, use Speccy (my favorite) or SIW or System Info

In the System Manufacturer Block, enter:
    Manufacturer and Model and
ADD the word laptop, desktop, netbook or tablet.
    For example:
    Toshiba Satellite L305D notebook.

Provide full windows version info, for example:
    MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader,
Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor, etc

Scroll down and click on SAVE CHANGES.

You will find that in Speccy, you can select info from the display
using your mouse/touchpad and then paste that info into your specs.

SIW is a marvelous program, but the free version does not offer
    this capability.

    AFter that, then please:

    Install CCleaner:
CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download

    list of STARTUP PROGRAMS

    CCleaner | Tools
icon | Startup button | Windows tab |
click on Save to text file button (bottom right side) |
accept Startup.txt as file name | SAVE button

    list of SCHEDULED TASKS

    CCleaner | Tools
icon | Startup button | Scheduled Tasks tab |
click on Save to text file button (bottom right side) |
enter Scheduled Tasks as File name | Save button

    List of INSTALLED PROGRAMS

    CCleaner | Tools
    icon | Uninstall button |
click on Save to text file button (bottom right side) |
accept install.txt as File name | Save button

UPLOAD, as an attachment, the startup.txt file
UPLOAD, as an attachment, the Scheduled Tasks.txt file
UPLOAD, as an attachment, the install.txt file.

    HOW TO UPLOAD
Post a File or Screenshot in Seven Forums

And another boilerplate for you since your Win 7 is not up-to-date,

Notice that ALL updates are to be installed. This is not XP.

    UPDATING YOUR WIN 7
    1. ASSURE THAT YOU RECEIVE ALL UPDATES
WIN | type WINDOWS UPDATE | ENTER |
    Change settings (left-hand column) |
checkmark all four of the boxes | OK
    button

Approve any dialog boxes presented. Let Windows install any update features.

WIN is the key with the Microsoft flag on top.

    2. INSTALL CRITICAL UPDATES
    Check for Updates
    (left-hand column)
    Install ALL critical updates.
Restart your computer (even if not prompted)

Repeat this procedure until there are no more critical updates.

DO NOT TRUST the “Windows is up to date” in center of dialog. until you see that TWICE IN A ROW!

    3. INSTALL IMPORTANT UPDATES
Use the “critical update” procedure until all important updates are installed.

    4. INSTALL OPTIONAL UPDATES
Under Optional updates you will be presented with:
    a) Microsoft Bing Desktop which is of questionable value
    b) a list of about 34 language updates.

You can hide those updates so that aren't continually notified of those updates.
When you click on 34+ optional updates are available, then you
    a) highlight all of the language updates,
    b) right-click anywhere in the highlighted list.
    c) click on Hide Updates,
    d) OK button.
    Install ALL other Optional Updates.
    Use the “critical update” procedure.

    UPDATE GOLDEN RULES

    Install ALL, yes, ALL updates.
This is Win 7 and not Vista or XP (eXPired).

    UPDATE IS HUNG –TAKING FOREVER
Hung is very doubtful unless you interrupted updates.

CTRL + SHIFT + ESC key combo will pop-up the Task Manager.
Lo and behold, Windows Update is still running!

You hold down the CTRL and SHIFT keys.
While holding them down, tap the ESC key once.
