Intermittent BSOD - ntoskrnl.exe at fault?

    Hi,

I would be very grateful for any help in finding the source of these fairly frequent intermittent crashes. I fitted a new hard drive and re-installed the OS for this client. After a couple of weeks it started to blue screen. At first I thought their usb wireless adapter was at fault. I removed it and everything was ok for another week or so. Then the BSODs started again.

I have tested the RAM and HDD - both fine. I have used Eurosoft PC-Check to stress test the machine and it was fine. I used the same software to test the motherboard and it passed fine. I used Prime95 64 bit to torture test the machine and again it wouldn't crash. Also I have run mbam and superantispyware and the machine is spyware free. It also has the latest video drivers installed. Typically since I brought it back to the office it has behaved impeccably in every way

Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks
    Paul

    1, Remove "COMODO Internet Security"
2, Check for newer versions of the following drivers:
"NETGEAR WNA1100 N150 Wireless USB Adapter"
    "NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430"
    "NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controller"

    Hi Tobias

Many thanks for your reply. The machine has the most recent NVIDIA drivers installed already. The last 5 dumps happened when the machine was connected by ethernet and the usb wireless adapter had been removed. Either way, having read your suggestion, I have fully uninstalled all the Netgear software from control panel.

I am surprised that you suggest removing comodo. I have installed it on hundreds of machines over the years and find it supremely reliable. Did you find a specific reason to suggest it should be removed or is it more of a hunch?

One problem is that I cannot get the machine to blue screen at the moment and, given the intermittent nature of the crashes, it won't be easy to know if I have fixed it (for example by unistalling Netgear and/or Comodo) before returning it to the client.

Any further suggestions, ideas or analysis would be much appreciated.

    Thanks a lot
    Paul

I don't have any experience with Comodo but the "COMODO Internet Security Sandbox Driver" seems to have been the cause to at least one of the BSODs.

Thanks for that Tobias. I will also remove the Comodo before returning it to the client.

Any other things I should consider?

My client is still getting intermittent blue screens on this machine. I have attached another batch of dumps and would be very grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction. Thanks
