Hi all,

Been getting seemingly random BSOD ever since I installed W7, some happen straight after a cold boot, others while the comp. has been on for hours. I've reinstalled W7 a number of times BSOD still occur, generally within a couple of days of the install.

I've tested the RAM with memtest+86 & HCI memtest a couple times and neither show errors. Reseated and swapped memory DIMMS to no avail. Reseated SATA cables. All hardware has the latest firmware and BIOS as far as I'm aware. I'm pretty sure all drivers are the latest aswell.

Device Manager shows an 'unknown device' which I have no idea what it is.

BSOD before the 1st Aug were while the cpu was overclocked
BSOD after the 1st Aug were at stock clocks

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've got no idea.

Check if there's a newer version of the IntelliPoint drivers and replace Norton 360 with Micrsoft Security Essentials, or at least update it.

The unknown device is Intel Smart Connect ... Download from here

All teh BSOD's are related to Norton .... Please remove the whole software and install the MSE (microsoft security essential)

Also please disable the below from startup

IAStorIcon REG_SZ C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology\IAStorIcon.exe
