What device is the firewire cable connected too? From the looks of it, it sounds like we're dealing with some sort of audio device? I see the latest crashdump (from August 19) shows the program running at the time was AmpliTube 3.exe, and the responsible driver that appears to have committed the fault was TCNear.sys, which is supposed to be for some audio interfacing. It's dated from May 2010, so you may wanna check either the AmpliTube software or some drivers associated with whatever audio devices you have connected to verify that everything is up to date.

If that doesn't seem to work, or you've determined there's no updates, you may need to turn on Driver Verifier. Send us any crashdumps from any crashes you may experience while Driver Verifier is active. Remember to read all instructions in the article completely so you don't miss anything.

Well this explains why this is happening with your Firewire.

Two drivers involved: MacDrive Partition drivers, and Acronis True Image. Both of these are pre-Windows 7 drivers, so unless there's updates available to download and install, you may need to look into newer products, or these two may just be conflicting with each other and you will need to separate them (as in don't have Acronis TrueImage involved with this MacDrive).

Though one thing that confuses me, and that you're using some Mac-related product for a PC. I don't understand why that's necessary. Either way, these two are apparently not playing nice (with the MacDrive most suspect), so you'll need to take care of em.

Hi, thanks very much for the help Vir Gnarus.

My girlfriend has a mac and sometimes we share files. She has a couple of external hard drives that are mac formatted. A program called MacDrive let's you have read/write access to these drives. Can Windows 7 natively access hfs+ formatted drives?

No, I'm afraid Windows natively cannot support HFS+, but there are apps like MacDrive that can. You may need to purchase another, more up-to-date program, or you can purchase the newest MacDrive 9 which seems to incorporate sufficient Windows 7 support (unless their website is misleading). If they offer a cheaper/free upgrade from what you have now you may also wish to pursue that. Whatever the case may be, something has to change to fix this problem, be it MacDrive or Acronis TrueImage.
