Laptop hangs CONSTANTLY since buying last year at random intervals

Hi there. I own an Acer Aspire 7551G Laptop running Windows 7 64-bit.
Since using it, it has consistently given me trouble. It will freeze every 5-10 minutes and hang for about 2-3 minutes, at random. Please help me fix this, as I am at my wits end.
    Thanks.

    Hi,

Can you run a sfc /scannow from an elevated command prompt? If so, do that and post the results here for us to look at.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Mmm. OK, time to gather more system information:
System Info - See Your System Specs

Which anti-virus software do you have installed? Can you also list all the non-Microsoft items in Startup please?

    See METHOD4, STEP3 here:

    Hi,

The first thing that springs to mindisNorton can be a bit of a resource hog - to test if this is the cause of your issue, I'd suggest uninstalling it and replacing it with MSE. If this doesn't cure the issue, you can install it back again,

Uncheck all of those Startups except MSE and gadgets/stickies if you use them. Do the same in msconfig>Services after ticking box to Hide All MS Services. Reboot and check back to see if any sneak back in and turn them off in their Program Prefs.

If this isn't sufficient, run CCleaner "Run Cleaner" button follow by Puran free boot-time defragger.

Then work through these other basic Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7

Are you still running the Acer factory pre-install. If so consider a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7
