    BSOD DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL - NETw5s64

    Hey guys,
This has been going on for a month or two now. It happens very randomly. Sometimes when playing a game, sometimes when in Photoshop, sometimes when in a word processing program. There's no rhyme or reason. I have done all I can to figure it out myself. From what I've read about NETw5s64 it could be my wifi adapter, but I updated all of those drivers and it continues, I also read something about my iPhone connectivity to my PC being the cause so I deleted all Apple software and no dice.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Dump info enclosed

Well, I think the problem is your NETw5s64.sys, wifi adapter, as I've seen it mentioned other places. In device manager, do you see an exclamation mark by your WiFi adapter?

No I do not. You mean the device shown in the image right?
    Edit(not the printer lol)

When I updated the drivers for them in an attempt to fix the problem I simply right clicked>update driver>search the web and it automatically updated through Windows. I figured that would have fixed it.

Why do you have COMODO & Avast installed?

Well....I thought they had separate functions. One was a firewall and one antivirus. Is that not the case? Should I delete one? Which one? Both? Is that what's causing the problem?

If I was you i would uninstall both completely and install Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows at least while we go through the debugging stage. (windows has a pretty good firewall built in)

    Thanks - Ant

Ok.....Avast and Comodo are gone and I have Microsoft Security Essentials installed.

Should I just wait for another BSOD? Was there something in the dump files that pointed to Comodo or Avast?

I've been running Avast and Comodo for a year and didn't have problems, but a month or so ago I went two weeks without a BSOD and I was thinking that maybe I had Avast and Comodo stopped at that time cause sometimes I'll do that when gaming to improve lag. I guess now that they're gone we'll just have to see.

No BSoD in 2 days and I was having them a couple a day. So fingers are crossed that it was Avast and Comodo. Thanks for the help. If I have another one I'll be back.....but if nothing in a few days I'll "mark as solved".
