BSOD after clean install - DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Hello folks,wonder if you could help me out?


I've got a new build that ran without any issues for a few weeks until I had problems with Star Wars - The Old Republic.The game changed my desktop resolution so that it was out of range and as I had no restore points or monitors that would detect vga mode,I done a clean install of win 7 ultimate x64.

Soon after installing the latest version of Steam I had issues with Red Orchestra 2 Heroes of Stalingrad game which kept crashing ( many others have this same problem ) and that when I started getting BSOD.

I have experimented with removing :
Gfx card - still BSOD
DVD RW - still BSOD
HDD (swapped this with another win7 installed HDD) -still BSOD

I moved a stick of ram into another slot on the mobo and this seemed to have stopped BSOD,so then replaced all the above parts back into the system and ran driver verifier over some 24hrs or so and then finally got the latest BSOD as enclosed.
This occured while downloading a game update for war thunder while playing fifa12 and a few other bits and bobs ( I think I was searching for a mod for fifa12 at the time of crash)

AMD FX 8120
Corsair 8GB DDR3 1866
ASUS M5A78L-M USB3
WD3000 JS HDD
ATI 4870
600w psu

Nothing has been overclocked

I have updated all drivers,removed all unknown devices,mem test 3 runs,checked HDD.

After the last BSOD (0x000000d1) it seems its something to do with the memory.I enclosed several dump files from this unhappy saga.

I'm currently running more memtest a few at once after reseating the ram sticks.

Hmm,ok.

I'm starting to think now that this might well be caused by having a cheap PSU.
Its an Alpine gold 600w, and I'm using 3 hdd which could be giving me power issues and thus causing all these BSOD.

As a footnote ,I've found that inserting my ram into the 1st and 2nd slots of my Asus M5a78l-m USB3 Mobo boots up without BSOD and other combinations dont seem to work as well.

I'll try getting a better PSU from the likes of Corsair/Antec/CoolerMaster and see if things can be resolved.

There is also an issue with AMD and memory based BSOD thats either BIOS or MOBO related.wonder if anyone knows a little more about this?
