    DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE caused by ntoskrnl.exe

I put my PC to hibernate as usual, but this time it threw a BSOD after hanging for 10min. I fired it back up in the morning and it crashed several times before Windows became usable.

Attached are a bunch of minidumps with the same power state failure. The most recent dumps on 8/31/12 (today) and 8/19/12 have ntoskrnl.exe+7f1c0 as the cause. The other two dumps (from 2011) have ntoskrnl.exe+7cc40, one of them being INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR.

    What is the offending driver?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi

BSOD on 31/8 caused by netr28ux.sys... Your Ralink 802.11n Wireless Adapter Driver

BSOD on 19/8 caused by L1C62x64.sys.. your Atheros Ethernet driver.. Go here to update it ... along with other updates for your MB

Update them both to resolve the issue.

centaur78, I appreciate the quick response.

Since my wireless adapter is some cheap USB dongle and is on the latest (only) drivers I can find. I suppose I'll just have to say "oh well" since it doesn't occur often.

I updated the Ralink driver to April 2012 version from Feb 09 version. Now I'm picking up many more signals! Hopefully this resolves the crashing too.

Thanks again for the help, centaur78.
