Do you have any other codec pack installed besides that?

Uninstall and replace with Shark007's FREE Codec solutions - Windows 7 codecs Download Windows 7 Codecs 3.7.6 - FileHippo.com
When you're done installing just click on Shark007 suggested settings like on the image on that page.

Let us know if you're getting more freezes.

    Thanks.

Run SFC scannow and reboot if it says it found files for repair.
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

    apainine

Here is how you help us with your System Specs which then travel with all of your posts:

    Update your SevenForums System Specs
User CP (located on the top menu bar) |
Your Profile | Edit System Spec
    (left-hand column)

To gather info, use Speccy (my favorite) or SIW or System Info

In the System Manufacturer Block, enter:
Ř Manufacturer and Model OR Custom build.
Ř ADD the word laptop, desktop, netbook or tablet.
    For example:
    Toshiba Satellite L305D notebook.

Provide full windows version info, for example:
    MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader,
Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor, etc

Scroll down and click on SAVE CHANGES.

With Speccy, you can select with your mouse/touchpad info from the display
and paste that info into your specs.

SIW is a marvelous program, but the free version does not offer
    this capability.

Your understanding and cooperation is appreciated.

I'll await the system specs before continuing.
