BSOD playing any game, dxgmms1.sys - RAM problem?
Hi, I have been receiving these BSOD's for a long time and this is mostly when I playing a game, it sometimes takes an hour or 2, sometimes a few mins into a game. dxgmms1.sys is the main one that I'm receiving, I am also getting different ones but this is the most occurring.
I had a temporary solution to it which was overclocking the CPU. I overclocked it by using the CPU level up feature in my mobo BIOS, I was choosing the i965. However when I did this I realized my RAM capacity went down to 4GB from 6GB, so I was losing one whole stick of RAM.
My first thought was faulty RAM so a few days ago I ran a Memtest and got a few errors after 8 passes, these were mainly errors in test 5 and 8. After doing a little research I found out that sometimes its not always the RAM which is faulty when these errors occur so I decided to update most of the outdated drivers including the NIC. I had also updated the graphics card drivers as well as reinstalling them. I had also run prime95 and after about 2 mins an error came up and stopped one of the workers. I have also looked at the temps while doing this and they seem fine.
I have attached the most recent BSOD after playing BF3 multipayer for an hour. So is the problem just in the RAM or is there a defective driver or maybe there's a fault with other hardware?
