    It is caused by HIDCLASS.sys.

    1. Right click on the My Computer icon> Select manage. It will open the computer management window.
    2. Click on the "Device manager" in the left pane.
    3. Expand USB Serial Bus Controller.
    4. Right click > Uninstall them all, one by one.
    5. When Done, restart the computer.
    6. On restart, the necessary drivers will be auto-installed.

One more thing, please update your network driver. Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller.

    1. download the network card driver from manufactuer's website.
    2. Then reinstall the driver:
    3. Click the Start Button, type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotation marks) in the Start Menu Search box and press Enter.
    4. Double click to expand "Network adaptors".
    5. Right click your network card and click Uninstall.
    6. Check "Delete driver software for this device" check box, click OK.
    7. Restart the computer

If windows does not auto configure the appropriate drivers at startup, install the downloaded one manually.

    Let us know the results.

Now, disconnect whatever is attached with the USB ports other than keyboard and mouse. Restart the computer and see if it is crashing again or not.

If it crashes, turn USB selective suspense on and see if it changes the situation or not.

Thank you for the help Arc.

I only have mouse, keyboard and an external HDD attached via usb.

I removed the HDD and rebooted.

    Another bluescreen at start-up.

EDIT: USB selective suspense is already enabled

you want selective suspend DISABLED, it causes far more problems than it solves. I've actually taken to disabling it on new builds.

Now, disable Driver Verifier. Follow Option Two. (as it is stop 0xC9)

Observe hoe the computer is running. Report back with results.

Sorry Arc, the computer blue screens on boot with the USB suspend both enabled and disabled.

Misread your post Arc. I'll disable verifier and report back. Should the USB suspend be disabled also?

Assuming you followed what is stated in post #11, you disable verifier and turn off USB Selective Suspense.

Do one more thing, Free up the startup.

    1. Click on the Start button
    2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
    3. Select the “Startup” tab.
    4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
    5. Apply > OK
    6. Accept the restart.

    Now, reboot, and report back.
