Latop dropped, BSOD, screen freezed, sometimes cannot restart

    Hi,

I dropped my laptop so hard few weeks ago. After that, it worked unstable. BSOD / freezed screen happened so many times. Sometimes, it could not restart, look like the computer was locked.
I tried to re-installed windows, but the problems are still there.

My laptop is Sony Vaio VPCEB33FM
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

Please help me to solve this matter.
    Thank you very much.

Is your laptop under warranty? The dumps in your zip are old.
19-7-2012 , 21-7-2012 is that when the incident happened?

Yes, on those days, in July 2012.
It had BSOD even if I typed the keyboards a little bit stronger. It was also locked. When I pressed the power button, the light was on and then off in few seconds. I repeated many times and sometimes it could restart.

I re-send the new dump file that includes today (Sep-10-2012) crash.

My laptop is not under warranty now.

    Hi koolkat77,

I did "Disk check", Hard Driver scan: Short Driver Self Test --> pass.
I could not find Long driver self test, but I chose "Fix All --> Long" ---> pass.
About RAM test using Memtest86+, the results are below (hope you can understand my idea :) ):

    No/ - Slot - Stick - pass - Error - duration - remark
    1/ - 0&1 - 1&2 - 0 - 4 - 40m - 4 errors

    2/ - 0 - 1 - 0 interupted
    3/ - 1 - 1 - 13 - 0 - 4hr30m ok

    4/ - 0 - 2 - 0 - 13 - 30m freezed
    5/ - 1 - 2 - 7 - 0 - 2hr50m - ok

    6/ - 0&1 - 2&1 - 3 - 23 - 2hr - 23 errors

    7/ - 0 - 2 - 0 - 0 - 0 - cannot start
    8/ - 1 - 1 - 5 - 0 - 2hr - ok

It looks like the RAM slot "0" has errors in sometimes, the Ram sticks are working ok.
My 2 ram sticks are Kingston 2G kind.
Now, I am using only 1 Stick in a good Slot (1), the laptop's running ok but a little bit slow.
Do I need to repair the Ram Slot or buying another 4G RAM stick?

Did I do the right things?

    Thank you for your help.

Hi..sounds like the drop has caused problems to the motherboard.
Is your laptop still under its warranty?

Yes, possible to take it to a computer shop nearby? If they confirm that..the least you will have to do is replace your motherboard.

Let us know what your decision is and..sorry that I couldn't be of more help.
