My laptop has error code 0x800700b7 I have searched on here need help

Hello all, Ryan here, had a question,

I have a Toshiba u505-s2975 64bit, I don't really do anything on it but surf the web and play Wow and use office. I turned my laptop off last night and this morning went to start it and it wouldn't start. It just was going to startup repair and not letting it restart. I then tried to restore to a previous time and then I got the error code 0x800700b7.

After that I started the laptop in Safe mode with networking and tried to restore to a previous time and it worked. However when it restarted in normal mode it was so slow it wouldn't bring up my Icons only my start bar at the bottom, but I couldn't do anything still.

So I tried to start in Safe mode with networking again, and it will try then fail and send me to the startup repair screen and that is where I am stuck. and I've tried to do the process again and it is just a horrible cycle.

Thanks for your help in advance!

    Hello and welcome aboard.

If your system does not boot, it is the best to follow the steps described in Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Boot.

If still fails, you may go for a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

    rcdsupra,

Help us to help you by fully fluffing out your system specs and here is how:

    Update your SevenForums System Specs
User CP (located on the top menu bar) |
Your Profile | Edit System Spec
    (left-hand column)

To gather info, use Speccy (my favorite) or SIW or System Info

In the System Manufacturer Block, enter:
Ř Manufacturer and Model OR Custom build.
Ř ADD the word laptop, desktop, netbook or tablet.
    For example:
    Toshiba Satellite L305D notebook.

Provide full windows version info, for example:
    MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader,
Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor, etc

Scroll down and click on SAVE CHANGES.

With Speccy, you can select with your mouse/touchpad info from the display
and paste that info into your specs.

SIW is a marvelous program, but the free version does not offer
    this capability.

    ======================================

After, and ONLY after completing the above, then carry out:

    Install CCleaner:
CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download

    list of STARTUP PROGRAMS

    CCleaner | Tools
icon | Startup button | Windows tab |
click on Save to text file button (bottom right side) |
accept Startup.txt as file name | SAVE button

    list of SCHEDULED TASKS

    CCleaner | Tools
icon | Startup button | Scheduled Tasks tab |
click on Save to text file button (bottom right side) |
enter Scheduled Tasks as File name | Save button

    List of INSTALLED PROGRAMS

    CCleaner | Tools
    icon | Uninstall button |
click on Save to text file button (bottom right side) |
accept install.txt as File name | Save button

UPLOAD, as an attachment, the startup.txt file
UPLOAD, as an attachment, the Scheduled Tasks.txt file
UPLOAD, as an attachment, the install.txt file.

    HOW TO UPLOAD
Post a File or Screenshot in Seven Forums

Install your audio driver fresh. It should work.

    Update your display driver, too.
