    Htpc bsod

Howdy y'all. Nice site I've stumbled upon here here, I'll have to do some poking around. Interested in learning how to debug my own problems eventually, but I do need some help now.

I've had my computer set up for over a year , and I'm having some real problems now. I'm using an HDTV as a monitor, and this computer is the only way I watch TV.

Half the time I don't know what happened, it's just rebooted and says something like 'grub rescue>' on a black bg white text screen.

When I reboot, sometimes I lose my display. Sometimes it goes to the bios splash screen, and then black. Sometimes splash screen, 'grub rescue>' prompt.

Just now, while I was watching TV, it blue screened, automatically rebooted, and I don't remember what happened next, but it didn't boot back into windows. After messing with it for a while, resetting, swapping cables, swapping inputs on the TV, I grabbed a VGA cable and used that. That worked, and showed a startup restore screen. The aspect ratio was 4:3 (black bars on the left and right) I followed the prompts, and it restarted fine, still on the VGA, in 16:9 now.

I read a bit on the forum before posting, there is nothing in my minidump folder. I checked, and the computer is set to do a complete dump, so I dono why it hasn't. I've bluescreened at least a half a dozen times in the past few weeks. My pagefile is manually set to 4000 Mib (or MB? I forget) maybe that's why? I had a 30Gig SSD as my only hard drive at install, so that's why I reduced the pagefile size. I have another hard drive in there for storage and programs now, so I could reset the pagefile size if that could be an issue.

God this is a long post, sorry.

Used the 7Z diagnostic tool to make a zip file.

    Thanks for any tips!

    Welcome

There seems to be no dump in the zip file.

Please make sure you're following the instructions on this thread
https://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html correctly and post the dumps again.

If you are not getting the dumps try:

Right, I said in that wall of text (I would have skimmed it too) that it's set up correctly to make a dump, but there is no dump. I guess I have two problems?

Edit* My pagefile is shrunken though. I guess I'll put that back to automatic size and see if it crashes again.
