BSOD with proper nVidia drivers on Windows Start-up, nvlddmkm.sys

My suggestion:
download the latest correct driver.

Do NOT install at this time.

once again, put the jumper to the onboard graphics.

Boot up.

Use Device Management, (devmgmt.msc) and disable, then uninstall all of the drivers for your evga card.

shut back down,
reset the jumper to use your graphics card.

Do NOT install any drivers.

Does the card work correctly?

If no, then :
Install the driver you just downloaded.

After resetting the jumper back to my graphics card and booting up, the card does not function correctly. After I reinstall the driver, the one on the top of the EVGA list, I receive the same blue screen when I attempt to boot up Windows to run it.

Before I attempted to install the proper driver, this is what I saw in device manager. I guess these identical two automatically installed themselves, but the top one isn't functional.

Windows Update is configured currently to instantaneously update my drivers. After a reboot after I uninstalled all drivers, this was the error that popped up showing why the above occurs.



After I updated the driver, this is what the device manager / installer looks like. This is right before I restarted my system, which only led to a blue screen.

• Download and install |MG| Driver Fusion (Driver Sweeper) 1.1.1 Download.
• Reboot the computer in Advanced Boot Options, safe mode. Search Driver Fusion in your start menu, and remove all components of your nVidia display driver.
• Boot normally now. Go to Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers, follow option two to search for the appropriate driver for your system automatically, and install it.

Let us know how it worked.

Same results when I attempted to boot up under the driver.

I am able to run my Radeon HD 4670 perfectly fine, though it uses ATi Radeon drivers instead of nVidia. At this point, after reinstalling Windows and attempting countless fixes (I have been talking to the support team at EVGA as well), I think I have come to the conclusion that this is not going to work.

My only concern is whether or not I will receive this problem with a different nVidia card if I were to replace this one. Is there any reason why my system would not be able to handle the particular nVidia driver even after installing a clean copy of Windows? I don't really understand why this would happen, why would a specific piece of hardware suddenly not be able to support a specific driver?

Should I proceed with an RMA, or should I try a few more things just in case?
