x64 BSOD Problems

HI...I am new here, and I was just wondering if someone would be able to help me with a problem I have been having....I have been getting BSOD when I have been doing some cpu intensive task...For example today I just had it BSOD twice on me when I was compressing a large file with winrar...I have attached my minidump....any help would be greatly appreciated...

that minidump was caused by a memory corruption. have you changed your hardware lately? Are you overclocking? what were you doing just before it bsod?

No I have not changed any hardware recently...The hardware on the computer is the same as it has been since I made the upgrade from vista to windows 7...

Yes I am overclocking....I have a very small overclock on my CPU...stock my cpu clocks at 3ghz...I have it overclocked to 3.15ghz

Right before BSOD I was using Winrar to create a multi part archive of a large file

I had my overclock since i was running vista, and never went back to stock before my clean install of Windows 7, so it has always been this way....

I will revert to stock cpu settings and try again to see if it gives me a bsod

We have an expert at bsod here and im sure he is typing an answer even as i am Morning sulphuric

Suggest you use a stablity program like Prime95 to test for system stablity. I had a similar problem when I upgraded from Vista to Win7 which some simple bios voltage adjustments fixed completely for me.

If you are an overclocker you should have no problem finding the setting. For me it was north bridge voltage that needed a slight bump which made all the difference. It was like hitting a light switch, unstable-stable.

Morning Zigzag. I'd love to try to help but it's almost 3am my time and I'm having trouble reading.

I'm not an "expert" btw. That's a derogatory word where I come from

Well it appears that it was my overclock that was leading to the system instability....After returning to stock clock I was able to complete the task that caused me to BSOD the previous two times I tried today...

I didn't really think that my slight overclock would have any adverse effects, since it ran completely stable on Vista...

This is typical behavior, not being stable in Win7 when moving from Vista. It's already happend quite a few times on other systems.

Simply increasing the northbridge voltage has worked a few times in restoring stablity on the Win 7 system. Try it and you will see what I mean.
