    Hmm... I'm not sure why it came up as 3200... The processor is 3.4 ghz, and I did nothing to overclock the processor. Newegg.com - AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ965FBGMBOX is the processor. 3.4 ghz

    To be honest, I'm also confused. In a little bit, I may ask you to run a script to see what the script reports.

    Have you installed Win 7 SP1 (service pack #1)?
    If you do not know:
    WIN | type WINVER | ENTER

    If you have then update your system specs to indicate that sp1 is installed.

    Thanks. Hang in there. I've been pursuing some problems on another troublesome and troubling computer user. Some days one I just shouldn't switch the computer on.

    CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download

    list of STARTUP PROGRAMS

    CCleaner | Tools
    icon | Startup button | Windows tab |
    click on Save to text file button (bottom right side) |
    accept Startup.txt as file name | SAVE button

    list of SCHEDULED TASKS

    CCleaner | Tools
    icon | Startup button | Scheduled Tasks tab |
    click on Save to text file button (bottom right side) |

    jjj,

    WIN | type MSCONFIG | ENTER | STARTUP tab |
    Uncheck ALL except for:
    Script:
    MSC    Microsoft Corporation    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Security Client\msseces.exe" -hide -runkey
    REBOOT!

    You have just told Win 7 to not run unchecked programs at start up time.

    You have not disabled the programs. They will be run when needed.

    WIN = key with the Microsoft logo on top
    =======================================

    After that REBOOT is finished, then:
    CCLEANER | TOOLS icon | STARTUP tab | SCHEDULED TASKS tab |
    Use DISABLE button to disable ALL except for:
    Script:
    CCleanerSkipUAC    Piriform Ltd    "C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCleaner.exe" $(Arg0
    Close CCleaner.

    REBOOT!

    You have not disabled any programs. You have disabled the scheduled running.
    Later, after your system is running smoothly, you may reenable desired programs.
    ===================================
    ===================================

    After that REBOOT is finished, then:

    UNINSTALL

    Script:
    AMD OverDrive    Advanced Micro DevicesInc.    8/30/2012    22.3 MB    4.2.1.0604
    Bonjour    Apple Inc
    .    9/19/2012    2.00 MB    3.0.0.10
    DAEMON Tools Lite    DT Soft Ltd    8
    /30/2012        4.45.4.0316
    µTorrent    BitTorrent Inc
    .    8/30/2012        3.2.0
    REBOOT

    REMOVAL OF P2P PROGRAMS

    There are signs of one or more P2P (Peer to Peer) File Sharing Programs on your computer.

    As long as you are using any form of P2P networking to download files, you can anticipate malware infestations.

    I strongly recommend that you uninstall:
    µTorrent
    BitTorrent
    Vuze
